Kenmore 70 Series Top Loading Washer Leaks

If this is a Kenmore TOP LOADER, you need to remove the exterior cabinet in order to access the washer interior and sufficiently inspect to determine where your leak may be coming from. This is much easier than it sounds. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

In the majority of cases with a top loader, the water pump begins to leak. These pumps are not serviceable and require replacing if damaged. The following link explains how:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3794382-replacing_water_pump_whirlpool_top

Replacement parts (if required) can be purchased at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

All these sites are reputable and offer great service with competitive pricing, so shop and compare. The first three sites I listed also include helpful exploded view parts diagrams to assist you in locating and properly identifying the parts you need.

Follow the tips in the link provided and make sure you inspect all hoses and tub seals as well. This is a very simple repair that you can perform without the assistance of a repairman. The average cost of a pump is about $35.

If you have any questions, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER (located along the wash tub rim under the lid), so I can determine what washer configuration you have. I hope you find this information helpful.

Kenmore70 series washer 110.26752502 leaks water while filling

If you have a leak on a TOP LOADER, the most common cause is a worn drain pump, leaking drain hoses or the hose to the air dome has come loose. You will need to remove the exterior case of the washer to be sure. DO NOT lay the washer on its back. The gearcase contains oil and it may leak through the breather hole.

The following link explains how to inspect a TOP LOADER for leaks:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3576648-washer_leak__top_loader

If the drain pump is leaking, it is not serviceable and must be replaced, the following link explains how to replace one:

Replacement parts (if required) may be purchased on line at any of the following websites:

searspartsdirect.com
pcappliancerepair.com
appliancepartspros.com
repairclinic.com

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare.

Read through the instructions provided and let me know if you need further assistance. The choice is yours if you wish to pursue this repair on your own. In my opinion, you don't need a "certified repairman" to find the source of a leak in most cases. Many of these repairs are simple with a little guidance. I hope this help you.

Kenmore series 70 squealing and leaking water

First, see the Sears parts site for your washer:
http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/index.action

Enter your model number (###.######) and you'll see a list of major sub-components with diagrams and parts.

It sounds as if your pump is bad.

See the following illustrated description of how to access and check / replace the pump.

Water is coming out of the bottom of the washing machine

Tip the machine back and remove the 2 clips holding on the drain pump. Remove the hoses. Then turn the pump over to where the motor shaft enters it. There will be signs of water leaking out of the pump. Your local parts store will have the pump instock.
