Hi! We just bought a 1995 jeep grand cherokee. We are trying to get it to pass safety inspection but the windshield defrost fan is not working. In fact, nothing in the center console is working! The radio, A/C, Heat, defrost fan etc... Actually, the heat seems to have a mind of its own because it will blow hot air on occasion and we can't turn it off. Hmmm. We are thinking this must be some type of fuse or wiring issue. Any suggestions/ideas?? Help!!
Start by checking the fuses under the dash and under the hood. Could be a relay or a broken ground.

you have faulty blend doors, try heatertreater.com they have a DIY kit that fixes the problem, it takes around half an hour to fix and works really well.

You will have to check the flap operating controls behind the centre consol as anything could be wrong from a vacumn pipe to a operating mechanism ,even the computer controlling the climatic control .
