Star tps 100 not producing reciept intermittantly

Is this the networked Star TSP or the USB version? If it's networked you may want to make sure that you're still connected to the network by printing out a test receipt (power the printer off, hold the feed button down while it's off and continue holding the feed button after turning the printer back on until it prints a test receipt - the second receipt will give IP configuration information).

If you're not receiving a valid IP address you may be having network issues - you might consider assigning the printer (you might need to power cycle your router and printer to get initially connected again in order to do this).

You can also try resetting the printer to its default configuration - you can find instructions here:

The printer just keeps printing an incripted code, then feeding blank paper & starting over again until it's out of paper. We have to turn it off in order not to use up all the receipt paper.

Hi Star Customer

Please make sure the printer is configured to use ESC/POS by opening the printer software and select ESC/POS mode.

The star tsp700II receipt printer I have was working great and then one day it started feeding paper before each receipt. So it wastes about 6inches of paper on every receipt. I cannot figure out what...

Our Star TSP700II leaves about 1/4 inch of unused paper on the roll when the error light comes on and the printer stops printing. Is there any way we can make an adjustment so that we're not wasting so much paper?

Star TSP 100 do not print in access 2003, access said is over the 22.75" limit

Miguel963,

I hope you have solved your problem in the mean time (9 months ago!).

I just bought the same printer and ran into the same problem. After looking on the internet for a solution and finding none I read the software manual a couple of times again and came up with this solution.

Access is right when it claims that the report's length is over the 22.75'' limit. The paper size of the 72 mm x Receipt is 72 mm wide and 3,000 mm tall; 22.75 being 577.85 mm. This means that the selected paper size is more than 5 times too tall.

The simplest solution is to choose the 72 mm x 200 mm paper size.

Next you need to go to the properties of your printer (Start > Settings > Printers and Faxes > Star TSP100 Cutter (TSP143)). Select Printer > Properties. In the Properties dialog select the Device Settings tab. Under Installable Options, set the Paper Type to Receipt. Setting the paper type to Receipt will cause the pages to have a variable length.

While you're there you might set the Page Cut Type to No Cut and set the Document Cut Type to Partial Cut.

Works like a charm for me.

If you really want you can even add Access's favorite paper length to the list of paper sizes. To do that you need to go to My Computer > Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. The best way to go there is to use the Windows Explorer or something similar. Under the File menu in Windows Explorer you'll find an option Server Properties. The Print Server Properties Dialog Box is shown. On the Forms tab you'll see a Forms on: <ComputerName> list. Locate the Star paper size of e.g. 72 mm x 200 mm and select it in the list. Once you check the Create a new form check box you can give it a new name. I called mine 72 mm x Access and modified the paper height to the 22.75'' or 577.8 mm.

However, I ran some tests and it doesn't seem like this last step is really necessary. Even with the 72 mm x 200 mm paper size selected for my Access report I printed tickets that were 5,000 mm tall without any problem.

Trying to use star sp200 with quickbooks pos and keep getting spread out printing

Sounds like the "template" is set for "letter size" paper rather than "receipt" paper.

Go to "Workstation" Preferences, and then "Printing". Verify the template selection.
