Blades stopped cutting and opening up the machine found the blades had come off of their spigots
Attachment method is not correct. Owner's manual shoud tell you how to do it properly. No Owner's manual,

first, pull out the bvlades and make surte they are sharp. It could simply be that they are dull. Next, line tyhe bottom blade up level to the surface of the needle plate. The top blade should be adjusted to where it slices against the botom blade. You may have to experiment with the height adjustment on the top blade, assuming you have a suitable cutting edge.

check bottom blade,it should be flush with needle plate. when you turn hand wheel by hand the top knife should be even along the length of the bottom one .the top knige is held by a 7 or 8 mm screw [looking straight at you] slacken this ,turn wheel till knife come to bdc and push the top blade against the bottom one. however if the edges of the knives are shiny or worn ,it will never cut. you can buy them relativly cheaply [eastman staples huddersfield is main juki agent].
