First, how are you connecting? RCA jacks(red yellow white cords) or HDMI? If it's the RCA cords, they were known to develope shorts in the yellow cord that connects to your TV. Just try another cord. They are very cheap, and the cords from all of the other Playstations will work for the PS3. Second, try to do a picture reset on your system. Sometimes, going from HDMI, back to the RCA confuses the system because the RCA connections are NOT detected automatically, HDMI is. To do a picture reset, turn the system on, then push the power button once,(you'll hear a beep) then push and hold the power button until the system shuts off.(you should hear 2 beeps) Then when you turn the system back on, the picture will be reset. ^^ Good luck, and I hope this helps.
Hello, To test what the problem is, I would recommend finding a friends whole also has a PlayStation 2. Offer good company and maybe lunch to bring his/ hers PlayStation 2 over. I would then attempt to plug in the friends PlayStation 2 into your TV and attempt to play a game, If It does work then you know the problem lies in your personal PlayStation, If it does not work then the problem could lie within the TV's internals, Possible the component connections. Assuming the game does play on your Tv, I would recommend using some tape to mark your friends cords, console and power supply (don't want to mix them up) and then start by using your friends Cords one at a time to see if you can get your console working properly. Probable can skip the power supply because you mentioned you can hear the driver start.
Well First you need a special video cord for the psp and i beleive only the 2000 seires [slims] can do it, also i think the tv has to be HD cords, i think cause my friend tryed to use a standrad tv and it didnt work so its might be the component cords, red blue green, then two audio red and white gl
No, but you do have to select HDMI output in the settings in the PS3 menu and make sure the TV is switched to the correct HDMI input ( Whatever one you plugged your PS3 into)
1. First check the power cable by removing it and then plugging it in again. You may find it is not pushed in far enough. If that is good then follow these steps
The console might not be turned on. Turn on the console using the main power switch on the back of the console.
Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected.
Visually inspect the AC power cord for damage. Do not use if frayed, cut, or damaged in any way.
Confirm the wall power outlet is active (receiving power). Try a different power outlet.
If possible, test the power cord by connecting it to a different PLAYSTATION 3.
If possible, try another AC power cord on your PLAYSTATION 3.
If you experienced a power surge, shortage, or a lightning storm in your geographical area recently, this may have affected the PLAYSTATION 3 power supply and the PLAYSTATION 3 may need service.
Make sure the vents are not obstructed in anyway.
Make sure there is adequate ventilation for the PLAYSTATION 3.
There should be at least four (4) inches of clearance between the air
vents on the system and any walls, televisions, entertainment
centers, etc. Otherwise the unit may not function properly due to what
are actually environmental issues.
Sounds like the problem is with the AV coloured cords because i have the same problem, if you connect the cords into your tv or vcr check the connection it could be loose there. Hope this helps.
if you getting a blue screen and NO browser, the system is probaly damaged, either try another AV cord to plug into tv, if that doesnt work then its something internal
check the yellow plug from the ps2 in the back of the tv, make sure it looks all ok . try it in another Video in slot AV 2 or AV 3 e.c.t , also if you have a spare cord for the ps2 try that , a standard ps1 cord will do the job , and most of all make sure the cord is firmly in the back of the ps2 , i would say u need to replace the cord , if that dosent work you have a video card issue , which will mean off the the service centre, you could just take it into a game console repair store and let them try another cord for you , so that way you atleast know if you need to buy another one or not, or maybe a friends ps2 or ps1 cord,
