Pull the power plug. Unlike your PC, your router doesn't need to shut down gracefully.

There is computer lore that you should wait 10 seconds before plugging it back in, to let all the charge drain from the router's RAM, so I always do.

wirelessage_1.jpg

Please use any pin and insert in the hole marked in red. Press the pin for 10 seconds and the router will be reset. While resetting the router the power should be connected to the router. After that you are able to configure the new settings in the router.

How do i reset my router?

Normally there is a button on the back of the router that says reset. You need to hold this in for 10 seconds with a pin or the tip of a pen or pencil. When all the lights on the front of the router flash, it should be reset back to the way it was out of the box, ready for initial setup again.
Good Luck.

I cannot access my D-Link Wireless Router, i'm trying to change my password but i cannot access the configuration panel, i have tried many alternatives.... however, i cannot find out what my password is,...

In order to get your router back to the original settings, you must push in the reset button (usually on the back of the router) for somewhere between 10 and 30 seconds depending on the router. You may need a pin or something small to push in the button, because it can be recessed. Once you have reset the router, the username and password will be changed to the defaults, admin and password, respectively. One thing you must remember is that resetting the router will change all of the router settings back to the factory settings. This means you will lose all of the changes you made since you got the router. Make sure to write down any things you've changed, so you can change them back after the reset. Also, I recommend updating to the latest firmware after the reset.

My pass word is not working

U may have forgotten the password.
1. Try default password, which for most routers is admin.
Or if it doesnt work then,
2. ALL YOU CAN DO IS TO RESET THE ROUTER TO FACTORY SETTINGS
You may reset router to factory setting from the reset button on the back side of the router. use a paper pin to press the button for few seconds, the lights on the from would blink and the router would restart with factory setting. Please not that ALL SETTING WOULD BE LOST...AND YOU WOULD HAVE TO MAKE CONFIGURATIONS AND SETTING ALL OVER AGAIN

HOPE IT HELPS...

How can i reset my linksys router to its default configuration if i forgot my password and cannot access 192.168.1.1?

Hello Dave,

To reset the router you will require a pin. On the back of the router near the power cable, you should see a small pin hole. Use a pin to press the button inside the pinhole for about 10 seconds. Once you release the pressure your router will reset to the factory default.

Thanks,

Pat

Forgot my securty key for zyxel p66ohw

Hello,
Log on to the router by typing the IP address into a web browser. This will log you into the router.
Once logged in you can select the "security" section and find your security key.
If you no longer have the password to log in you will need to reset the router. You can reset it by pressing a pin inot the pin hole on the back of the router near the AC adapter plug.
Thanks

Where i cant repair my router... i have netgear wndr3300 an all light on my router suddenly off no power at all... my question is where i can repair this router... i dont have my warranty....

First check the power supply adapter with a multi-meter, the voltage should be 12 volts (the voltage is on the label on the adapter). If there is zero or near zero voltage the the adapter is faulty and needs to be replaced.
If the adaprer is OK then try resetting the router back to the factory default settings.
Power up the router and press the resrt button at the back of the router until the LEDs start flashing the release the reset button.
If this doesn't work then replace the faulty router, it is not worth fixing, the Netgeaar routers are not expensive.

Need password for 2wire network

The best solution is to reset the router. The easiest way to do this is to find the reset button, usually on the back of the router there is a pin hole button. Use a pin or pencil to push the button.

Be warned, any special settings will be lost, but most installations of home network routers such as the 2Wire Router/Gateway is the default settings. If you have other than the default settings, then contact the person/organization that set up the 2Wire for you, such as your ISP/Internet provider.
