Hi there thanks would try what u say and how I find image on my D

Without knowing the history of the laptop, I can only assume there is a recovery image on your D: Disk. or some other partition.

  • buddyglee
    buddyglee Jun 18, 2014

Add a CommentLaptop has a Hidden partition, to access it with the computer turned off simply press the [Assist] Button, it should turn on the computer and launch the Rescue partition. if that does not work turn on the computer and tap the [F10] key a few times at the VAIO logo a screen that states"Edit Boot Options" will appear simply press enter and the tools will launch once the tools load choose "C Drive Recovery" and everything will be wiped clean back to the original factory image. You can even use Rescue data to try and save any of your files before starting the Format. Once the unit is returned to the original image once you are at the desktop of windows, press [Assist] to open VAIO Care and create a set of recovery software. all you need are 2 blank DVDs

try the above to see if that works. Remember though. Back up important files or pictures before doing this.

Your password is incorrect, Maybe the account you are trying to log on to is incorrect. It is possible that the SAM hive is corrupt. Check caps lock. Try an older password.

You can try an NT offline password reset if you have access to that software. For a fee, Vaio should be able to send you the Software disks.

You can try safe mode with networking, Download Dr Web or malware bytes and try to run it. You may try to create another user account from the control panel and see if that works. There should be a recovery image on your D drive that it is referring too. Make sure you back up everything.

SOURCE: Cannot start Sony VAIO PCG-5J2L /Goes to black screen only

During start-up the computer will go to a black screen for awhile and then the pointer arrow will show alone, and then the system will come up.

If you think it's a hibernation problem, pull the ac plug and battery out for about 1 hour and then plug back in.

If this didn't work, then try the F8 Key and choose "Last Know Good Configuration".

SOURCE: Can't restore factory intallations and settings: Vaio VGN-FE880E

Are you doing DESTRUCTIVE recoveries or are you doing NONDESTRUCTIVE recoveries? Try another hard drive in the machine and recover to that. Nondestructive recoveries replace the operating system without destroying the personal data. Its possible the original problem is propagating over to the recovered systems. Do a destructive recovery. Understand any data not backed up will be destroyed. Possible the original problem was a trojan virus.

You need the Win7 camera driver, check sony support at:
http://esupport.sony.com/US/perl/swu-list.pl?mdl=VGNCR220E&SelectOS=44

just enter your Win7 operating system (there are 9 versions of Win7), and select the downloads (2)
for your computer camera driver.

I have the sony vaio vgn-ar61m and when i turn it on it says BOOTMGR is missing quess!ctrl+alt+eel uo sesuaru!

1.Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD drive, and then restart the computer.
2.Click to select any options that are required to start the computer from the CD drive if you are prompted.
3.When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
4.Press 1 (One) to select windows XP and then hit enter.
5.When you are prompted, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.
6.At the command prompt, Type Bootrec /RebuildBcd and then press ENTER.
7.If the Bootrec.exe tool runs successfully, it presents you with an installation path of a Windows directory. To add the entry to the BCD store, type yes. A confirmation message appears that indicates the entry was added successfully.
8.If the Bootrec.exe tool cannot locate any missing Windows installations, you must remove the BCD store, and then you must re-create it. To do this, type the following commands in the order in which they are presented. Press ENTER after each command.
Bcdedit /export C:\BCD_Backup

ren c:\boot\bcd bcd.old

Bootrec /rebuildbcd

1.Restart the computer

Sony vaio VGN-SZ430N/B

I'd suggest ring back Sony support and tell them that your OS is Windows 7 - not Vista. Therefore, you need the upgraded VGA driver because the Vista driver is incompatible with Windows 7. Hope it all goes well. If my suggestion works for you, please do rate me. Thanks

How do I get ride of the message: "Vaio Sat Survey.exe has stopped working" on my new VGN-NW 120J

Hi There !!

Thank you for writing to Fixya.com

The Sony Vaio softwares are not updated correctly, That's the reason it might be crashing, on the other hand you always need to consider the Windows Update as well. My suggestion would be:

  1. Click Start
vistastartbutton.jpg in the Start Search box.
  2. Type msconfig, and then press ENTER.

securityshield.jpg If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Continue.
  3. Click the Startup tab, and then unchecked the Vaio Sat Survey.exe, if you find it.These are software that Computer Manfacturer installs on your system initially & they rarely good for the users.
Now after that, Go to windows update & perform the Windows Update.
Need help with windows update, check the link below.

After installing all the latest updates, Restart the machine.

Hope this will help.
