Viking 6 burner, gas stove top. When the back leftburner is turned on, it continually clicks. How can we fix this?

Hello,

The electrode (spark plug) for that burner is not telling the spark module the burner is lit and go ahead and turn off the spark. That electrode and the wiring on it need to be replaced, from that burner back to the spark module.

Viking gas stove top ignitors sparking incorrectly

all ignitors spark at the same time no matter which burner is turned on. If you are having trouble with one burner not lighting try cleaning around the ignitor with a small screw driver so the spark has a good path to ground.

Electric starter won't stop clicking - how to unplug starter?

Your electric spark switches got wet. You may be able to remove the knobs and use a hair dryer through the switch/valve opening to dry them out.

One stovetop burner does not initiate igniter sparking.

Its most likely the igniter. It might just be dirty, but its easy to install a new one. They are attached by two screws and a single plug. I'd suggest turning the power off to the stove before plugging in a new one.

Viking 4 burner gas stove spark will not stop after flame starts

make sure that the electronic pilot gets hot by the flame of the burners, some times the gas air adjustmet is open to much and the flame will not get to the starter or electronic pilot, the electrode has a sensor that knows when the flame is on, if you see that the tip of the electrode is not been touch by the flame it will not stop, tiking. if that is not the problem replace the electrodes, or electronic pilot the same thing.

Electric spark for gas range burner is non stop

Turning any knob starts the spark via a switch behind each which should disengage when the (any) knob is turn further.
One of your switches is stuck.

I think you should be able to remove the range-top for access and find the offending switch.
It is probably gummy from a spill and is no longer in solid contact with the cam that operates it.

A solvent/lubricant such as WD-40 sprayed on the plunger of the switch once you can see it and operating the knob back and forth should free it up.

It might be wise to turn off the gas supply while tinkering with the range - blow your house away and the range won't matter. :-(

Viking stove top gas burners

I have a VGR36 6 burner. All the spark ignitors stopped clicking after a major boilover spill. Liquid got into the spark module compartment and caused a short. The paper wiring diagram under the spark module protective cover was burned from the short. I had a Harper 6542 non-reignition spark module but the replacement part is now a Tytronics PA020041 Spark Module. I bought kit #000511-000 from allvikingparts.com which includes the module, a black jumper wire, a green ground wire and an instruction sheet.

It's not difficult to replace the spark module but the 2 screws holding down the module toward the back of the stove are not visable and accessible. I used a thumbwheel rachet with a long philips screw driver bit (for cordless drills) to remove and replace the screws. The wiring was simple. The 2 power wires need to be wired to the correct polarity on the module, but the remaining 4 ignition wires can be wired to any of the 4 terminals on the new module. All the wires have plug in connectors and no cutting and splicing is necessary, but I had to cut and splice because one wire shorted and the insulation was burned from the major spill on my stove.

Gas Stove - Electric Starter

Just happened to me. I unplugged the electric starter, wiped up the water, took off burners, etc., and placed a fan over the stove. After about 3 hours, I plugged in starter and the clicking is no longer.
