This is going to be very hard as once hard disks are locked they cannot be undone so if you have no passwords to get into the security of the HDD, its a new hard disk i'm afraid.

SOURCE: kid lost password how do you reboot without disk diver?

Hello,
This is a suggestion but may work. Try to get into the bios and edit the hdd password. I believe you either press DEL key when you power on the laptop or it might be F2, not quite sure. You will have to navigate in the bios to reach the set hard drive password section. Set to blank password and see if it allows you to boot.

Thanks,
Lolita

um the only thing i would do is get an ide/sata/miniide to usb adapter and backup all your data to another computer cuz that sounds like a bios setting if u want and u dont have the password disconect the battery and charger and remove the cmos battery that might reset the drive sequrity if it is a bios setting

I have a dell inspiron 15R that has a blue screen telling me that its harddisk security and then it says Sata port o wdc wd10jpvx-75jc3t0lock? help? How to fix this??

Hi,

The hard drive has been locked in the BIOS. If you cannot get into the bios with a password you can contact Dell for a code to unlock the BIOS and drive ... Here is a link that might help.

Acer Laptop, hard disk security locked?

It seems that drive lock for this drive is enabled from BIOS. Is BIOS also password protected? Drivelock can be removed from there.

HARDDISK SECURITY PASSWORD FOR WDC WD3200BPVT-22ZES

Saw on a forum that this could be the default password.. wdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwd

-put DOS on a floppy disk
-add atapwd.exe to the disk
-turn off the computer & connect your Western Digital hard drive.
-turn on the computer and inset floppy
-type atapwd.exe after A:\
-when the menu loads click on your harddrive
- >Prepare Erase
- >Erase
-enter the password " wdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwdcwd "
-It should come back with an error, press enter and the hard drive name will disappear from the list
-DO NOT RESTART-...Your harddrive is being formatted.
-Let it sit at that screen for 30mins
-Afterwards, press the F5 key(refresh) and the hard drive should reappear on the list
-restart...and it'll be unlocked.

I don't know if that will help your problem but I hope it helps someone.

THIS WILL DESTROY DATA ON THE HARD DRIVE
