If you put your iPod as "shuffle" mode, then it will use up more battery since the unit has to access the hard drive more than usual.

if you put in in "repeat" it will also use more than usual battery.

So, try to put your iPod right down, but your stereo up. Also, types of music files (wmp, mp3, mp4, wav, etc) affect your battery life as well. the higher the bitrates = more battery usage.

Also, try to keep using the iPod until it goes down to absolute 0% and turns itself off. Usually, the red part will last around 8 hours in most cases.

Hope this helped! ^_^ Have a great day~

I put voice over on ipod now it went black wat do i do

Omg i have same problem. I put voiceover on and screen went black so I used voiceover to find settings and then found the off button and it came back on. Took me like half an hour though. When I turn it on it goes black. Back on it turns normal.... havent found solution but to turn it off again and it will come back to life. Just dont turn it back on unless you set voiceover to triple click then mess around or whatever cuz its easy to get back at least. Im hoping this new update will fix it.

I purchased a used itouch ipod 8gb and it is locked

Hold down the power and home keys down for about 10 seconds each while plugged into itunes. When the screen goes black, release the power button but keep holding the home key until itunes says. We have detected an itouch in recovery mode.

From there you can restore as normal via iTunes.

Short battery life

Get a replacement from Philips if it seems abnormal and you are still under warranty. 8-9 hours is normal battery life for this unit - the product specs are "ideal" - not relaistic. No way to dim this unit.
