yes i m having the same problem... and now i cant even let my ipod to recovery mod.... pls help

  • Anonymous Nov 29, 2007

My Sansa had the blue light on and wouldnt go into recovery mode or turn on. So I just unscrewed the back on it and popped the battery out. It was that simple. Turned it on as soon as I put the battery back in and it works great. Amazing how simple technology is and how frustrating it can be to fix them.

I have the same problem . I have tried just about everything, but nothing works

  • Anonymous Apr 04, 2008

yea mine does the blue ring of death too. i tore the whole thing apart to find the problem. sansas use daughter cards for memory, but that was on tight. it could be the screen itself. i noticed some hardware build into the ribbon wire that could be used to idientify the screen to the motherboard. mabey its damaged

  • Anonymous Apr 05, 2008

I got my player THREE DAYS AGO and it doesn't do anything anymore. It was plugged into the computer, but when I tried to delete some files, there was nothing in any of the folders. I thought maybe it was just a weird glitch, so I restarted my computer, but now the computer doesn't even recognize when I plug it in. The solution with holding down the record button didn't help, it still doesn't do anything when I plug it in. Is there anything else I can do??

Okay, heres what you do.
try holding the power slider up for like 30 seconds.
then let it go, then turn it on like usual
it should work fine after that....

I'm not sure why, but these things have some sort of lock mechanism other than the "HOLD" button. What you have to do is hold the power button and slide the hold over. That works for mine.

This will fix it;

Run the recovery tool from the SanDisk website. Make sure you select "format" when prompted.

http://rapidshare.com/files/67740173/e200fw01.00.12.exe____

You need to put the device into "recovery mode" before you run the tool.

- Turn the device off (hold power for 20 seconds)
- Slide the hold switch into "hold" position.
- Press and hold the "record" button while connecting it to your computer. Keep holding the "record" button until you see the "new hardware found" on your computer.

Then run the recovery tool. Select format when prompted.

Best of Luck.

Try resetting the device by pressing and holding down the Menu button for 15 seconds.

If that does not resolve the issue, then you may need to replace the battery in the device.

Just the blue ring, screen does not turn on

Hello,

Blue ring faillure could be solved, trying to reset the e250.
How to reset:
1. Press and hold the Power/Menu button for approximately 20 seconds.
2. Release the Power/Menu button.
3. Press the Power/Menu button again to turn on the player.

Only if the reset action above did not help,
reload and update to the latest firmware.

Installing firmware will erase all data from the player !

ok , what you do is you pry off the bottons on the front, then there should be a screw. unscrew it. then youll see the screen thing. there will be two metel circals, one of them is probably dusty, just wipe it off and put every thing back together, the buttons just snap back on.

Malfunctioning sansa e250

In case anyone else has this problem, I fixed it. I unscrewed the back and removed the battery, then I put the battery back in, and the sansa performed fine, except that I have to put the songs back on that I was trying to put on the device before.

OR

These are the most common methods for recovering Sandisk's Sansa Mp3 Players. I have been almost universally successful in recovering Sansa players using one or a combination of these methods. These methods do not work if you are having synchronization or music format issues - they are for recovering a player that will not power up, freezes, flashes, is not recognized by the computer, and a host of other issues.

Reset the Sansa Player first. On most models, restart is done by holding the power button in for 15 seconds or longer. Check your specific manual to be sure. The manuals are available from the Sansa website if they have been misplaced.
Download the Sansa Recovery Tool from the Sansa website.
Format - Erases Everything: Connect your Sansa player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "Sansa 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.
Firmware Upgrade- Erases Everything: Get the latest firmware upgrade from Sansa - it updates the firmware and erases every song in the player all at once. Note: this method doesn't work if already have the latest firmware. Go to this website and click "Firmware Updater" to find out: http://www.sandisk.com/DriverDownload/driverList.asp
If these fail, then:
Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
If you get the problem where MTP Device keeps popping up continuously, uninstall the “MTP Device” by going to Start à Control Panel àSystem à Hardware à Device Manager (you computer may vary slightly, depending on Windows Version).
You may have to restart your computer after each of these methods to get them to work properly. Disconnect your Sansa player BEFORE shutting down your computer.
