I loaded a single sheet of transparency paper into the side feed. I set up the computer for side feed. As it fed through, it misfed. I opened the side panel, removed the entire sheet of the misfed transparency paper, and closed the door. It is still saying that I have a misfeed. I tried opening and closing any and all doors on the machine, as well as turning the machine off and on from both the inner, main power source as well as the top power button. Is there anything else I can do short of waiting for a tech to come out?

hi im jules_09 if the misfed sensor is on there is no process that can restart, the light togo off.once again check which sensor is on,there are 3 misfed sensor in the machine 1st is in the bypass tray area the 2nd in inside the machine itself the 3rd is at the fusing check which sensor is on better yet shieck all sensor, there just a piece of paper or something stock in thoose sensors

When ever there is a jam be sure to try and remove the jam without tearing the paper. If you do rip the paper piece it back together to assure you removed all of the jam. If there is one tiny scrap left and it lies across a sensor the jam will remain. Easier to happen than you may think.

It could be comming from the paper feed mechanism above the paper tray. Make sure its installed properly. It could be as simple as cleaning the feed tires.
SOURCE: will not automatically feed
I had to fix similar if not the same problem in the office today. After you load paper, the paper holder steel plank should pop up. In my case it didn't, the result was what you have described. To solve, before you close (push in) paper tray, on the lower right side of the paper tray there is a little plastic button, push it up from the buttom. This will pop up the steel plank on which paper rests, then close tray.
It worked for me...
SOURCE: Misfed error code stays on. There is no misfeed.
