Remove battery, and plug in. If the computer is operating correctly then you know 2 things, it's not the computer and it's not your AC Adapter. Which only leaves one thing, the battery may be going bad. Mine just died recently myself. Then again, this is NOT a perfect answer as it COULD be the adapter or some other component....but usually this sounds like a battery issue. Prepare to buy a new one.
read the manual yet, or lost it> or?

The backup battery exists to protect your data when the main battery dies. It only has enough power to keep the internal memory 'alive' so you dont lose your files, settings etc.
When the backup battery dies it should be replaced as soon as possible, as the main battery will power the internal memory only while it has charge. Should the main battery die it would be like performing a hard reset.
This PDA is relatively difficult to take apart. I've done it myself and it was very difficult. It is not recommended by any means because you can seriously mess up your ipaq by taking it apart. On the site I gave you after you buy and receive the replacement backup battery, if you do it yourself, will give you a site to get instructions from. You can also send it in to have it done professionally.
clear and simple. the batteries are bad.
they last about 3-5 years usually.
"batteries plus" in your area will usually replace them and dispose of the old batteries.
In the past I have replaced the batteries myself and taken the old ones to a battery surplus house and gotten a few dollars for the old ones (battery core).
You have to first charge the backup battery, for charging insert a fully charged main battery into the MC906x. Then the backup battery will starts charging leave it there for one day. if that message is still coming then the problem is with the backup battery and u have to replce it
