I was viewing movies online fell asleep when I woke I tapped any key to wake my pc. It did nothing I shut the system down and restarted the pc . I hit the powerbutton and all I got was a long continuous beep
Unplug power cable
Hold down the power button for 10 seconds
then remove power cable from the back of the computer and plug it back in.
try plug it directly to another outlet
that long continuous beep is a power issue
if you originally had it plugged into a power protector or multiplug connect it the outlet directly to get better power.

You may have a virus, or malware, or RAM problems.
use a good malware or virus software, and run with the last updates. sometimes in SAVE MODE is better to run,
most of the time, could be your RAMS.
you can use carefully one dimm of ram first then another. to see if shutdown well or do the same.

Try hitting the "Windows" key on your keyboard to bring it out of sleep mode. The "Windows" key is generally found on the bottom row of the keyboard, near the Alt and Ctrl keys, and it has no letters on it, just the Windows logo. That key brings my Windows Vista machines out of sleep mode when other keys won't.
As for the power button, anytime you need to force a computer to turn off, you can press and hold the power button to do so. Usually, you need to hold the power button for 5-10 seconds and it will shut down. Use this option with caution, as it turns the computer off without running through the shutdown process and can cause you to lose data.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Beeping upon startup and nothing else.
You need to check the RAM that is the first causes of beeping your system unit. Try to remove the RAM and clean the dust and re insert it. Try to use the other memory slot. You can try it 3 times. Thank you!

it seems to be an issue of a loose Hard drive connection.. you can open up a tower and re-connect the cable.
