The set will turn off the three picture tubes for several different reasons:

Voltages including High voltage are not there

Loss of either Vertical or Horizontal sweep

Loss of secondary voltages to the tubes

The set "looks" at several things when turned on and if not there no brightness is the result--rarely the picture tubes but something missing or wrong.

Whenever there is a a spark or a flash it generally means high votage(HV) is arching either from the flyback, one of the CRT's or HV splitter/Focus block where the HV is created - It will be easy to diagnose but probably expensive to repair. Parts costs- Flyback and HV block $100-200 and CRT over $300

Cameras suitable for the Zenit фото cнаипер (Zenit Fotosnaiper/Zenith Photosniper) are usually very difficult to find as they're specially modified versions of normal Zenit SLR cameras which incorporate a special additinal shutter release button on the baseplate.

Photosniper versions are generally expensive but broken ones can be cheap. Regular Zenit SLR's are very cheap and often free on Yahoo FreeCycle but I've never yet seen a Photosniper version on there.

Ebay is a good place to look but normally they are sold as part of a complete Photosniper kit. If you do see a body only for sale then the Photosniper versions always have a letter "S" at the end of the name, so a Zenit E is a regular model and a Zenit ES has the modification which makes it a Photosniper SLR.

All Zenit SLR cameras are mechanically very simple and most do not have any complex electronics. This is good, because it means that you can buy a cheap broken Photosniper camera and a cheap regular Zenit SLR and swap the baseplate with the additional shutter button to a regular Zenit to convert it for Photosniper use, the modification usually involves drilling a few holes but it's not difficult.

you need to have someone replace the convergence IC's

replace convergence i.c.s. and safety resistros around block

The tv is in shutdown protection due to overdriving video signal. If you are handy you can pull the front cover off and there are 6 controls on a HV block. 1 set says focus, do not touch those. One set says screen. One at a time turn them down, counter clock wise putting each one back where you found itTurn the first one down and then turn the set on. Do this for each untill you get a picture. You will most likely find a bad blue gun. You can also remove the board from each gun 1 at a time with the set unplugged and find the shorted gun. good luck.

try to check a bad conections in hv transformer and capacitor around them

Hello Was wondering if you ever found anything out how to reset the IC Screen Numbers or what the factory numbers all are on the Zenith Rear Projection TV Model # R57W46? I have the same problem ! My 2 year old son, not knowing how he did it cuze only a technecian is suppose to get into this screen, but he did change numbers in the too. I called zenith themselves and no luck ! My screen is bowed , etc.. Any Help ?

The tiny lites you see on the end of the tubes or crts are the filiments. This is a normal thing and if you didnt see those I WOULD BE WORRIED.. Now Who is they ?? who told you all that was wrong with the tv was the HI voltage block?? if your not a tech Dude your traveling into some very ,very dangerous territory!! Do you know I used to know three differant peeps who wanted to fix there own projection tvs BUT they are now all DEAD!!! They all electrocuted themselfs fooling around with the HI voltage circuit same as you did!!! Man You should stop and think what your doing before you treally hurt yourself.. Now for myour problem. How do you know the HI- voltage block was bad??? It wasent if you have the same problem that you started with. You probably have a bad flyback or hi voltage transformer?? Well any who I hope you dont get hurt tinkering with these sets as you can if your not carefull!!! CALL A PRO to assit you. Lifes not worth saving a few bucks for is it?? Good luck
