Go to www.compaq.com, then click on Get Support on the top of the page, then click Software & Driver downloads and enter your model number in the space it asks for. if after entering your model number it comes up with a list, click the model which matches yours exactly, then click your operating system, then scroll to the section listed Driver - Audio and click on the driver you need. then click install now and follow the on screen instructions.

Installing only audio drivers will give you error "DRIVER INSTALLATION FAILED. COULD NOT FIND MEDIA DEVICE FOR THIS DRIVER" .so to solve this problem first you have to download microsoft universal audio driver and then install audio drivers

After installing microsoft universal audio driver you can install conexant high definition audio..........that's it
