Why is my RCA STAV-3860 not coming on?

When unplugged/replugged it makes a click. Once freshly replugged it go to standby mode when the power button is pressed until another button is pressed and then it does nothing.

It sounds like the unit is getting power but is going into standby mode due to an internal fault. Sadly, newer receivers these days are not designed to be repaired but replaced!

The monitor is entering "standby" mode.
In Windows, click Start.
Click Control Panel.
Click Power Options.
Change the number of minutes before entering Standby Mode.

Hi

Try unplugging and replugging ethernet cable from the back of modem and from your computer- make sure you here a click when you plug it back in.

Check the standby light if on. Pressed standby button to disable standby mode.

Receiver stays on standby mode

Receiver either just stuck or held or having problem in amplifier output area.
Try to unplug it from AC outlet for couple of minutes and replug back in and power up, if works, fine and if does not, take it to local repair shop as it might requires some parts replacement in amplifier out area.

Very likely that the internal thermal fuse opened on the main power transformer. With the power cord unplugged, Check the resistance on the ac input of the transformer should read less than 10 ohms. Contact me when you know. I might be able to find one.
