Going Black Just the other day out of the blue, my monitor went black. I shut it off then on again, it comes up then immediately goes black. Same thing on restart of system???

  • Anonymous Dec 31, 2007

I have the same problem. My monitor says Auto Config Please Wait and turns itself off. If I hold the Auto Button with my finger it will stay on. It even flashed off and on when it is turned off. The only way I can stop this is to unplug the electrical cord.

Sounds thermal runaway. A component is getting too hot and failing. It will cool down and then work for a bit. Pull the covers to access all the boards and get a can of freeze it spray. You can identify the suspect parts with that.

Monitor goes black after running for a few minutes. Brand new 22 inch sceen.I prees the button to turn it on and it says Analog and goes black again. I have to shut down the computor to get it to come back...

Sounds like the computer is shutting it down and the monitor is fine. Check for viruses then check your settings in device manager for the screen saver and power down (screen off) options.

Screen goes black, power light stays green. display only stays on a couple of seconds

This happened to me and I was able to fix it. I cracked it opened and found a bad capacitor, bought a replacement at Radio Shack and I'm back in business. Actually using it right now to post this.

The l226wtq goes black

Try shining a flashlight on the screen, or without the flashlight, try to see if you can distinguish anything on the screen at all, if you do, the backlight is dead, or the monitor has an internal most likely unfixable problem.

Monitor flashes on then goes black.

I think you have the display shut off. the button on the bottom left will shut screen off. It will come on for a few seconds if you touch the screen, but will shut off again. just push the display button again and it should stay on.

Starlogic 20 inch widescreen monitor screen keeps going black

This is probably a back light problem. Take a bright flashlight and while the monitor is on, point it at the LCD and try different angles, etc. If you can see an image, it is the back light, probably the back light voltage converter unit in the lcd. It could also be the back light bulbs.

If you don't see an image with the flash light, then it could be the main logic board.

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

Sounds like either there is a bad connection from the computer to the monitor, or the monitor has a faulty power regulator, causing the monitor to overheat prematurely, and shut off.
