Hi, I uses the Boss RC50 more as a sequencer for songs than a looper. I pre record drums etc in my studio then assign them to the 3 pedals - usually 1=verse 2= chorus 3= bridge. This has worked really well for me and is a great way to have the full "band" sound when the band can't make it and its just me. My problem is the internal memory is now full in the pedal. I have gone through and trimmed the fat off of some of my loops but it is futile - also cuz i got more songs i want to put on there. Currently i got about 28 songs on there so at least i can do a couple sets or one good 1.5 hr show. I have considered storing different sets in folders and then dragging them into the pedal, but i believe the names and settings don't transfer but I'm not positive on this. I have heard the bossrc300 has more space, but don't have the coin and haven't tried it yet.

i got d same problm. i fixed it myself.. check all the op amp ic's if they're all gud. if youre not sure, replace all 4 rc4558 ic's. in my case, i still felt a very small output signal from my pedal (equalizers, vol n gain ctrls r gud since they vary when i change the setting) so i suspected that one or 2 of my ic's were damaged. i only replace d last two op amps which my signal passes thru. i also had this problm with my marshall drive master. same diagnosis and solution. check your schematics

Ok, solved this problem by visiting roland U.S. site as the help offered in this country is useless. The instructions given by email would not have worked even after the update was installed. Luckily, there are instructions that come with the download. If you have same problem as me go to http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=772&tab=downloads&skip=true
and update the opperating system on the RC-50 to RC-50 System Update Version 1.01.
Then hold loop sync and phrase 2 button (think it was phrase 2) to change it to sound priority mode. Then it will play back correctly what you recorded on the first loop, rather than missing the first beat.
Am v.happy I have found this, as after much searching I can't find any other loopers out there that offer 3 seperate loop tracks and the ability to switch between them effectively. Plus, it's a very convenient size, better than a load of rackmounted stuff to haul around.
However.....
Another problem..
When hitting the reverse switch ( I assigned both external footswitch and the onboard Tempo pedal to reverse) the change is not instanteaneous. There is a second or so delay before it plays in reverse. Not a problem for most, I suppose, but I have a piece that switches rythmicaly between playing forward and reverse which means hitting a pedal in time and reverse/forwards changing immediately. I think they could do with another software update to solve this. Now I have to keep room in my enormous pedal board for the old rc-20, as that does the reverse as it should - when you hit the flippin switch!

SOURCE: My Boss RC-50 has stopped working. I used the
CHeck the voltage out of the adapter. It should be around 9 to 11 volts. If it is not, it is possible that the OC3 has reversed polarity AND a protector that put a short on an incorrect supply. If so, it could have damaged the RC50 adapter. If the RC50 adapter is putting out correct voltage, then I suspect the inout connector on the RC50 may be damaged or not quite seated. Visually inspect the connector first.
