Why is it that my ps3 keep freezing up after I click on my username?

Time to bring it to a repair show or buy a new one. It sounds like it has multiple damage points.

If you are having issues with the screen freezing after the press start screen, this has to do with your automatic I.P. address configuration on your PS3. On your computer go to the command prompt (to get to command prompt, click START > Run. In the box that opens up, type cmd. This will give you a black window with something written on the top ), Here is a pic:


Type in ipconfig .It will show you the default gateway for your router/DSL. Type that into your web browser to access your router configuration. From there you can find the I.P. for the PS3 and default DNS servers. On your PS3, go to the network settings and manually enter in the I.P address for your PS3, the default gateway, and the default DNS servers. After that, it should load up fine for you.

Note: You will need the password for your router. Some have defaulted "admin" as the password, or whatever you used when you set up your router for your network.

Hi,

If your PS3 is freezing up then you need to stop the heat build up internally and to do this you will need to get it repaired.

Now you can send it in and they will fix it for you that is the standard method however bear in mind that there will be a repair charge of $150 for the fix which is quite steep!

The other way that you can fix it is by using a good PS3 Repair guide.

sync it. what you did was (and this happened to my computer, same thing basically) when you pulled the cord out of the ps3 or whatever you did your memory card/hard drive went blank of all your memory. so try to sync it, it should work.

i believe it is because of the tv the ps3 is fine but the tv is having difficulty reading the ps3

ok my name is Juan I got 3 solutions for you the problem you have is with the VGA chip under the chip there is about a 100 small pins directly connected to the motherboard and one or more of this connections are not making a good contact some ps3's they don't turn on at all some turn on but they freeze right away and here is your 3 solutions
1._ trow your motherboard away
2._ buy another motherboard or ps3 I have motherboards on sale for 70.dls on ebay
3._ send your motherboard to me and I can fix it the only way to fix this problem is to put the motherboard in an special oven controlled by computer the computer will bring the temperature up to the point of melting the joints under the VGA to make any broken connection make contact again this is why the temperature has to be controlled by computer to bring the temperature up to the melting point of the solder and don't cause any other damage t any of the electronics and if you have saved games they will be there after your motherboard gets fix but if you buy another motherboard you will lose all of your games let me know what you think about it

man lsn. r u using a direct cable to connect to the inter or a Wireless router?? if ur using a router then turn the moden off for 5 mints also the router and then re-connect, but its much better if ur using a direct cable, by the way make sure that the internert username and password r 100% right and there is nothing missing if u still  having the prob. then u should contact ur ADSL provider let them check ur stauts ASAP ok. hope it will work, and by the way about the freezing thing clean ur DVD first then turn the PS3 and then insert the DVD, DONT u EVER leave any DVD inside the PS3 and shut it down DONT DONT DONT ok man 

on xp go to your desktop and right click on it and choose properties, on the properties menu choose desktop, it should then give you the option to change the background only. in vista its more visual, after right clicking on desktop you click on personalization. and just choose your desktop background.

ejeect the disc clean the disc and try to clean the inside of the ps3

Confirmed that this was an issue with the disk. I can't believe I got two defective copies!
