What does the lock with the 9 in it mean and how do I get it to go off?

t s64nds 352e the number lock is on. To remove it look for a key with 'Num Lock' on and press it. You may need to press the function (Fn or Func - depending on which laptop you have). The key is usually located at the top right hand side of the keyboard.

Latitude D430 PC Notebook: i forgot my login password and i cant get into my ...

You have to reset the PC and while booting press F8 until the OS menu shows up, choose start safe mode. When you reach the Login part you will be able to login as an administrator, while you are logged in as Admin change your user password.
Word of advice, change to Windows XP or Windows 7 because Vista is the worst OS I saw. Cheers

Where is the jumper on a motherboard for dell latitude d430 any help plz

http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/pe2650/en/sm/jumpers.htm

That page explains what jumpers are and where they're GENERALLY located. Each motherboard is different. There are usually some abreviations near the jumpers that let you know what it is that they're for. You need to be a computer guru to understand a lot of them. I'm assuming you've locked yourself out of the system bios and forgot the password. The picture in the link above should show you what that jumper might me labeled as.

Dell Lattitude C840 Laptop

The 3 LED's (Num Lock, Caps Lock, Scroll Lock) are used by Dell to diagnose no-post issues such as yours. The only error code close to yours is [Num Lock ON, Caps Lock FLASHING, Scroll Lock ON]. This indicates a a memory error. Try reseating the memory modules. If you have 2 memory modules, insert one at a time to determine the faulty module.
