Dell latitude 120l CD boot problem

Hi i'vegot a problem with my dell laptop i cant load xp so i am trying to reinstall it by booting the laptop from the disc, but the problem is that it wont boot, i've also tried to change the boot sequence so that it is to boot from the cd first but that still doesn't work it continually says that there are no bootable devices--strike f1 to retry boot, f2 for setup utility. no matter how many times i press f1 the same keeps coming up. please help.

Strike the F2 key and go into setup. scroll to the System information and see if the drives are being recognized by the system board.

I need to reformat my dell latitude 120l pc notebook without using a disk. how can i do that?

Not a problem, I'll help you thru it. What we need to do is boot up off of the cd so we can install the operating system.

Then we need to install drivers once all of that is done.

Then at that point we will verify that all the hardware is installed and from there you can on your own install the programs that you might have that you want put back on there.
