How to install Microsoft Surface Pro

I don't think that would work.

Mine that I have requires the use of a charger that "magnetically" attaches to the side of the Surface Pro 3.

You cannot install the application but you can control it through your browser

I'm guessing that you have a Surface 2 which runs under Windows RT 8.1 rather than a Pro 3 which runs under Windows 8.1?

If so you need to upgrade your RT compatibility to handle chrome and a bunch of other things. You can download it from Microsoft from this page: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2917929

Install it then try to download and install Chrome - which works just fine under regular Windows 8.1 (for Intel rather than NVidia processors) which is what the Surface Pro runs.

If you still have a warranty, Contact Microsoft, they will be sure to help you.

These get stuck- try holding the power button and the volume up for about 10-15 seconds and it should reset itself.

Other Microsoft products won't work on the Surface 2, only the Surface Pro.

As for apps, this is something that is going to come with time.

did you partition your hard disk? if partition, try installing office into other drive other than drive c or if not partition run the setup again and click customize instead of clicking install, this will give you option to change the path and folder name of office your installing, change folder like MSOffice07 or Office07. This copy office into next hard disk clean blocks.  or
remove any lower version of office installation before installing new version a version conflict on windows office file against new version.
