Question about Mitsubishi VS-5043 50" Rear Projection Television
WHY MITSUBISHI BIG SCREEN TV POWER BUTTON ON BUT WANT MAKE NO SOUND OR NO PICTURE JUST HAVE A BLACK SCREEN.DO U THINK IT IS WORTH FIXING.
SOURCE: Distorted picture
when you say distorded, is it like a 3-d effect? or more of zig zag type lines in the picture. If there are color outlines like a 3-d effect, then you are having a convergence preakdown, and are going to need to have the convergence IC's replaced. if the problem is the piture is zagged edges and zig zag, lines or a smearing effect, most likly it is the PIP modle is going bad, and even if you dont use the PIP, the video still goes through that module. If it does not have a PIP feature, then there are bad capacitors in the sweep power supply and the problem will get progessivly worse till the set wont come on anymore. Hope this helps. Good Luck

It could be a bad solder connection that opens up as the set warms up. It could also be caused by a couple of bad capacitors, C2p05 (100uf/16v) Located By Ic2p01 and check C2c52 (10uf/50v) Located near Q2c51. A technican will be able to fix it for about what you paid for it I suppose.

We have a Mitsubishi big screen Model WS65869, moved it to the another area of the living room Transfered cables, and now all it will do is flash its green light and wont stop. Normally in the past it has not done this, so what could be the problem??

I had the same problem with the same model. If you pull the cover off the speakers in the front , then the small black panel. looking from the front past your lamps are the 3 main boards, the r/h board has wire jumpers connecting to the center board. The set that is closest to you had a bad/loose/corroded connection on mine. All I did was resecure connection(try moving them with your fingertip) and turn TV on and check.

Not exactly familiar with this model but sounds like the projector lamp is burned out. Hopefully it's a replaceable type. Try calling these people - http://www.purelandsupply.com
