SOURCE: Gateway FPD1960 19" CD has a red tint to all oc screen when I turn it on.

Make sure your VGA cable is seated properly. If it is seated OK, it could be the start of a problem with a backlight. When a backlight goes bad, it typically shows up as pink/red color where white should be displayed.

SOURCE: I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT

Hello,

It definitely seems like the button for brightness is stuck, this menu can't come up unless you press a button on the display or if the button or the button board is faulty.

your computer can not cause it to come up.

double check that the buttons are not struck.

to solve the problem if the stucking is not the issue, you would have to take apart the display and inspect the buttons, the board and the cable going to the mainboard of the display.

you might have to replace the button board, but most likely you can fix it if something is pressing on the button or if theres somekind of a short happening on the button board.

Hello, it may not be the monitor. It could be that the pc is not talking to it. To check this try another monitor. If it doesnt work on that one,its the computer thats faulty, usually the video card. If however it does work, you have a faulty monitor. They can be fixed or replaced. Or you could try your monitor on another pc, either way you will find out for sure. I hope I have helped.

E19T5W monitor doesn't stay on once power button is depressed

Chances are the power supply in the monitor is going out.

Today, monitors are cheap and unless you have a 24' or better, it really doesn't pay. You may spent $100.00 and find one new for $135.00
Hope this helps

Vga componet keeps showing up on the screen.

Assuming safely that you have a Dell E173 monitor, i would suggest the following steps to fix this...
1. Press the (+) button on your monitor to make it do an auto-adjust of the display.
2. On the on screen display (OSD) which can be evoked by using the menu button on your monitor - use the +/- key to get the factory reset option high lighted and press on the menu button to execute it.

This should take care of your problem, let me know how it goes!

Emachine 19" Widescreen Flat-Panel TFT-LCD Monitor

Your power/inverter board is in need of an overhaul.
The capacitors are failing and possibly a transistor.
If the screen showed any redness or pink whebn it was working, Then there is a slight chance that one or more of the 4 lightbulbs in the screen was going bad and finally went.
If you take it apart and send me a picture, I may be able to tell by looking at it.

Emachine E19T5W Monitor

I have more or less the same problem. Mine only stays on for a second though, but it started out like yours. I took it apart and found that the CCFL bulbs at the top of the screen were so poorly put together that they arced out and in the end melted the end of the back panel bulbs off. The monitor only lasted a year and a half and now it's toast unless I can find new back panal bulbs.
If the screen feels excessivly hot around the corners or if you here a snapping noises (arcing) yours is going the same route as mine. If you want to get rid of yours I'll take it.
