Why does aspire desktop ad keep appearing
Is it possible that you have the Acer screen saver on and need to adjust it !! Or did you buy this as ex display model from a store and it has not been properly wiped, check with store if so, but otherwise it is not an advert, just a screen saver extolling the virtues of your unit.

My Acer Tablet A500 the on off power button loss control cannot switch on.
Make sure you have the charging cable plugged in and press and hold the on/off for 10sec

Acer Aspire m1640 no display.
As far as I know there is no jumper. Look in the BIOS and see if you can point it to PCI or PCI-Ex. Also make sure you have the right memory and its seated. Have you tried a different monitor? These are the things I would look into first.
