Because it is an old model (end of service life and not supported anymore) and the battery possibly not holding any charge and needs replacing, i think this works ok on just the charger without battery.

There is a known issue with a BIOS bug in some of the Acer models that
it prevents charging. Try upgrading the BIOS from Acer online to the
latest version following the online instructions. But you might have to borrow a charged battery from someone first if your battery is already completely dead now.
Borrow another same voltage output from a friend or test it at a shop. That is either a 18.5 or 19volt charger. If thats it contact Acer they will ship you a new charger if its les than a year old. If it still wont charge then its a bad battery as well contact Acer.
OK, it sounds like the acer aspire one 751 has a bad battery that will need to be replaced. It is not taking a charge, so it is not detected even though it is connected to the laptop. The 'plugged in' message shows that the charger is connected and detected by the computer, but the battery is 'not charging' due to the bad cells.
Sounds like it may be an internal problem with the charge system on the laptop, if you can run the laptop with the AC cord but it will not charge, I suspect the charge module is bad. May have to return it for repair.
