Can I transfer sim card between same model tracphones

Yes. With a sim card it should activate itself with any model phone that belongs to that carrier. If it will not activate automatically just call carrier and they will have it activated in minutes .

An air conditioning technician told me that my Carrier XCB183D (9 years old) needs to be replaced (not cooling sufficiently) but that model is no longer available. Is that true?

Thats very likely, they update and come up with more efficient units and discontinue the older models.
The compressor will lose effieciency over time.

Hi smargyle,

Welcome to fixya!

I can provide you with diagrams for the old Carrier therm and for the new Filtrete therm. But, I would need to know what the model numbers are for each therm plus how many speeds AC you have.

Please reply back with that information and we will get your AC back in working order.

Thanks,

I have a Carrier AC model 38TKB030300 and I want to confirm the correct capacitor so I can replace it. Can you help? My central home unit shut off and the repairman said it was the capacitor that was...

Look at the old capacitor. The mircofarad rating should be printed on the side. If you can't read it then take the capacitor or the model # with you to a heating and air dealer the sells Carrier products. The repairman should have put one it for you.

Looking for a parts list/owners manual for an old carrier AC unit. Model #38 REO 36 300. Any idea?

Follow this link to the search page for the Unit need need literature on. If you want to change models (i.e. from the 38BR to the 38RE, both of which you list in your question), just enter the 1st 3-4 characters in the search box. this link is for the 38RE. Good luck!
