Instructions

    • 1Hold the mouse in your hand, press down on the battery compartment cover (the back of the mouse) then slide it off.
    • 2 Insert two AAA batteries into the mouse. Make sure the positive and negative terminals match up with the diagrams inside the battery compartment.
    • 3
    • Replace the battery compartment cover.
    • 4 Connect the USB receiver to a USB port on the computer. The computer will acknowledge that a new device has been installed and you will be prompted to install the software.
    • 5 Insert the software installation disc into the optical drive. Follow the instructions provided by the installation wizard to install the software.
    • 6 Press the link button on the receiver, then turn the mouse over and press the link button on the mouse. The mouse is ready for use.

To get this working again, I had to go through the Device Manager within the Control Panel > All Control Panel Items. If you right click on Mice and other pointing devices > HID-compliant mouse and then click on Properties, you will get a new window. Within that, you will need to go to the Driver tab, click "Uninstall", verify, and then re-insert the USB dongle at that point. This is what worked for me.

Mouse Acting Strange

The surface it's sliding on can be a factor; if it's reflecting off of a glossy surface, that can cause it to skip or pause. If thre's a touchpad, turn it off to improve mouse performance.

No, that dongle was a radio transmitter / receiver, not just a flash drive.
It's the equivalent of losing the base for a wireless phone. Without the base, the phone is useless.

Batteries for GE wireless optical mouse

Normal 0 The GE mouse doesn't have a little door to open on the bottom, Try this.
Just behind the Left and Right keys where your hand rests, apply firm pressure down on the cover and slide to the rear. Some mouse manufactures have used this type of access to replace the batteries.

are both keyboard and mouse communicating with a single wireless devices, or each has it's own? sometime you need to sync the signal to the wireless device. but do this first... ask your sister if the mouse was working before she gave it to you, there is a possibility that the mouse is broken/no working. if it's an optical mouse, the mouse that has lights sensor, make sure it lights up...
