First you connect a scan tool and read the codes. Then the code tells you WHY you are in Limp Mode. Then you fix whatever is wrong and the scan tool rests the code. Limp Mode is ONLY activated if something is wrong that can catastrophically damage the engine. You don't just turn it off and hope for the best.

Yes to keep the engine from overheating.

Fans on PT Cruisers are a common problem. A good way to check to see if the fan is bad is to turn on air conditioner on and the fan should run, if noy then fan could be bad.

How old is the fuel? Ethanol causes major problems if left too long. You may need to empty the fuel and clean out the fuel system. Try changing the fuel filter and adding some seafoam to the fuel and running seafoam thru the fuel system. Hopoe this helps.

L stands for limp mode
it is a mode that the ECM selects to prevent serious damage to the engine ( from you lack of oil )
have the fault codes read then reset with the scan tool

I don't think that no freon in the system would cause this. The a/c just would no work.

Ditto problems with a 2007 VX Cruiser. I have two and only one is giving me problems so I don't think its the gas (since I buy for both at the same time). I see no fuel filter between the tank and the injectors. Wondering if I have an injector problem Have used a bottle of fuel injector cleaner to no avail. Additionally, I have had to replace spark plugs with relative frequency in both VX Cruisers.

u need push on the remote the l mode when the ski is not running it work just **** a alarm remote make sure the battery is good because those remotes batterys go bad quick
