I have seen this issue before.... When you update the bios you need to reset the BIOS settings otherwise it is using an invalid set of options, you need to enter BIOS and load Defaults, (usually by pressing f9) hopefully after that your system should load properly...

Updated Bios for Toshiba Satelite C55-A5286 and now computer keeps crashing

Sounds like it may be related to the installation of the new vid card. I'd take it back to the shop where I had it worked on and tell them the problems your experiencing and tell them they screwed it up and you want it fixed-pro bono!

Upgrade the BIOS regardless, and yes check if by A23 release the hard drive you are trying to install will be supported.

You are several BIOS versions behind.

Microsoft is unable to determine the exact cause of this error. However, this problem was most likely caused by an error in your computer?s random access memory (RAM). RAM is the main internal storage area...

What are you doing when this happens? It sounds like you will have to get a BIOS upgrade weather you like it or not. Visit the motherboard manufacturer's website and obtain the BIOS update from there.

Computer does not see all ram. I have 2 of the same 512mb ram sticks it only sees one 512. If I only put in on at a time each one works but not both together. It does not show up in post or windows xp sp2...

u do need to remember that when you use 2 ram "sticks": 1. they CANNOT BE putted in slots directly next to each other. leave slot between them free. 2.they need to be exact same frequency and type [ddr1 or 2 or 3] and they both must have or not error connection on as if bios program upgrade utility is damaged do not try to upgrade bios as u may damage your motherboard beafore u try with 1gb stick refer to otherboard manual for ddr type and momory frequency

Needs help to recover crashed asus r2h bios

You need to put the battery back in, try to find an IDE floppy drive to use and if the new bios version hangs then download the old BIOS and reinstall that -a computer that hangs is not a successful install or the upgrade is wrong. Pulling the battery doesn't revert to the old BIOS, just default settings for the BIOS installed. Using a USB floppy for this is not a good idea as the usb drivers must load -might as well use a thumb drive if this is a laptop. For a desktop stick with the basic IDE floppy drive. Best of luck, Steve Medley
