I can't figure out how to access the cleaning program on my Brother MFC 440CN all in one printer scanner copier fax. On my older Brother printer scanner copier unit, there was an option to clean, by pushing a button on the unit, but I cannot figure out how to do it on this machine. Am I missing something?

If your black ink was generic, its possible that the ink clogged up the nozzles. its kind of like eating very greasy foods continuously, and the arteries slowly close up, and when it finally does, you can get a heart attack.

probably the printhead will need to get replaced or its possible your cleaning station will need to get replaced.

My printer will not print anything. I have a full cartridge of black ink, but low on the other colors. Will it not print with the colored ink out?

Assuming the test print page prints using the black ink, printers have a setting that allows you to select black and white printing. If you need further help you need to include the manufacturer and brand of the printer. If the test page doesn't print the black ink and Since you say you have a full black ink cartridge I would also check that you completely removed the plastic tab/sticker that covered the hole the the inks comes out of and that the ink cartridge is securly installed.

Why won't my printer print black ink?

U may want to check the settings, sometimes with a few printers I've owned they give an option of using only color inks in cases where the black ink is out.

I have enough black ink to print a few pages in black, but the printer won't print. What do I do?

I had a Epson printer that would not print or even allow me to use the scanner because the colored ink was out. Even though I had full black ink, it still would not let me print until i replaced the colored ink.

Ran out of color ink on cnnon mx310 ... want to

If when you attempt to print only with the black cartridge installed but it won't print, then this specific printer requires that color ink also be installed. Typical with most inkjets.

Remove the printer from control panel, under installed printers, then unplug the usb cable and reinstall the printer drivers using printer cd, or download from canon support website.

No color printing with lexmark x4270

How may times did you use the printer to print befor this happened? If you used it a lot then you may need to buy more ink. My printer showed full ink and it turned out that they were empty.
