I do believe that intex sells a kit to vac the pool ,it includes a plastic scoop that fits in skimmer to go to bottom vac wand

me i saw a photo of kit and made one out of an old vinegar container i cut the bottom off of and a length of old hose from a wet /dry vac and i use that to run around bottom to suck up solids (gotta fill hose first before connecting it )

You have a broken "lateral". You will have to remove the sand from the filter, find and replace the broken lateral (pipe with slots in it in the bottom of the filter). When you are ready to refill the sand, put enough water in the filter to cover the laterals (several inches actually) to avoid damaging them as you fill.

Check your o-ring seal to make sure it doesn't have sand under or on it, also it may have cracks in it, or the filter may have cracks in the housing...if that is so, then replace the housing.

I have an Intex pool,with the pump that is attached to the side not on the ground and I want to put this sand pump,on but how do I do it

it should be fairly simple and there are local above ground companies that can help, ,you would need a way to attach your sand filter with hoses.

How do a fix an intex sand pump that will not turn on

Sounds like you have experienced a common problem. Your pump apparently had failed. The motor is in need of replacement. If this is so: my suggestion is to replace with a real Pool Industry Pump! Not an Intex toy.
Have a service provider come out and confirm this, if you can't do it yourself, then if it is confirmed that your pump failed, get one from a Pool Industry Supplier with a real pool pump like: Pentair, Hayward, Waterway or Jandy/Zodiac.

Wish to upgrade cartridge filter pump to sand filter pump. Pool size 15' X 48" / pump 1000 gph - 637R /Item no 56945 Which intex sand filter is the best one?

First, understand that sand doesn't filter as finely as cartridges, so "upgrade" may be the wrong word. Cartridges filter down to about 10 microns, sand filters to 25-30 microns. (i.e.the cartridge will catch particles up to 3X smaller than sand will.)

If you still want to change, get the biggest sand filter available that you can comfortably afford. For superior results look at above ground pump/filter packages built by Hayward or Pentair. Intex products are just built to margin and are not designed for long term usage.

WHAT AND HOW DO YOU VACUUM INTEX ABOVE GROUND SALT WATER POOL

I used the manual vacuum that came with the pool during the summer because I actually got in the pool and vacuumed), but ultimately, now that it is cold, I went to the pool store and bought a much bigger vacuum (that still hooks up to the water hose) and then a longer pole. It's just too darn cold to get in the water during the winter. :-) Hope this helps!

if by flow problems are you saying excess air is being discharged back to pool out return hose ? if so this is a common thing on filters that go older than two or three seasons , the areation fingers inside filter housing are bad
