go into menu -initial setup- look for the option that says tx report or com journal and set that to incomplete only or off, sounds like it is set to always. if the setting is not in the menu i mentioned keep scrolling through youll find it

if you put the document in right direction(face up or face down)-your scanner unit may be out of order or unpluged firmly into the main board socket check it and reinsert scanner unit plug again.

When making a copy half the page is black. How do I correct this?

Your LED strip has burned.Its located under the cover from where you send & receive fax.It lights up in Green color.So half of your LED's are not working.Change it & it will be fine.

Noisy line? is all that strikes true when you ensure me it makes great photocopys, but then you receive OK, very strange, All the mechanisms for doing a local copy is the same as sending a fax the difference is the conversion to phone noise so it has to be electronic, I;d guess lightning/power surge, cant think of much else....sorry

When I send a fax from our Brother Intellifax 2800, the person receiving the fax gets the fax but half of the page is blacked out, what is the problem?

sounds like your cis (contact image sensor) which lights up and reads your original, is bad. that component is located under the keypad/control panel. if you make a copy, it should also be partially balck if that is the problem.

FAX received full of black stripes

If you are using upper tray to send the fax than kindly open the fax gently and clean the lens with some cotton and spirit and than try to send the fax you will get the best result. to open the fax unit gently refer the user manual or this open by lifting it up side and you can see the lens inside it so clean the same ok.
