Depending upon what you are printing and how you want it to look. Also cost is a factor. We sell new and used printers at our storefront. If you are printing items you do not want to smear if they get wet - Go laser. If you are printing photos on photo paper - Go ink. Some people fail to tell you when selling a color laser jet printer that when you are are printing just black, you are also using each of the colors a little. Toner is the lubricant that keeps the drums from squeaking on the blade as the drum inside the cartridge turns. The buildup of excess toner in the waste container may cause the cartridge to fail though you have only used a little in the cartridge. Laser and Led printing black only is the most efficient way to print. We don't usually recommend color laser printers unless that is all you are going to print are full color documents. Color can be expensive. Inkjet is more expensive to only print black with. While if printing color, it is less expensive than laser. If you need more information please ask!

How to reset expired hp 02 cartridge

I'm not sure what you mean by "reset" and whether you are speaking of ink jet or laser cartridges. From my experience all HP laser cartridges have a small chip (with a little circuitry) that counts down your pages and when it decides your cartridge is out of toner you cannot "reset" that chip, you can only replace it, so like when you refill the cartridge. Some of the HP laser printers let you override these toner level chips (my HP 1518ni does) but in many laser printers you are stuck when the chip counts down to '0' pages. Some printers will run if you remove the chip from the cartridge but from my experience most will not.
Ink jet cartridges are somewhat similar but I gave up on ink jet printers several years ago. I know for some brands (Epson?) you can buy a small tool that somehow resets the cartridge chip (so if you refill cartridges yourself); possibly there is something similar for HP ink jet cartridges.

How to maintain your ink-jet printer

In the printer market there have thousands difference brands and models ink-jet and laser-jet printer, how can we eleminate their trouble to the minimon and extend their lifetime as long as we can. The paper tray for the ink-jet printer most are open top style, therefor very easy to catch dust and other cbject and cause paper jam, paper skew, paper rinkle, some cases are easy to remove some don't,when you have those case happen, the first thing you have to do is check the paper tray inside of the bottom , looking for somethings it not belong to, then clean up the paper feed roller with rubbing alcohol. Now how can we prevent it happen, the way is when finish printing use something to cover the tray. when paper jam occure, remenber, never pull the paper opposited way, you have follow the direction let he paper go forward, otherwise you going to damage the paper senser.
How about laser printer, the laser printer it's structure much stronger than ink jet s the cost much higher too, but their maintainence much easier, when it have paper jam occure, commonly replace paper pick up roller and paper stop roller, if you hear noise from back of the machine, 90% the fusing unit have problem, if the noise come from front, the problem almost in cartridge, the cartridge, here , I like to give you advise, use brand name cartridge better than generic one. because, too much manufacture, skill all difference as well as quality all difference, be careful, be smart !

What is the different of matrix printer to other printer like inkjet printer and laser printer?

Each of the three differ on the quality and the technical feature. The print quality of the matrix is the lowest and is used for general documentation/ billing.
the ink jet uses ink with high speed nozzle and has colour with good quality printing that it is used for domestic and office uses.
The Laser is the best in the class and has superior printing with higher technical feature for professional quality.

I want to know what is inside the printer cartridge

Hi,

The ink cartridge are of different type and contains ink in different form.

  • Thermal Ink jet Cartridge (HP, Canon) - The cartridge contains a liquid ink, which is heated by a heating plate on the cartridge. A bubble is formed which forces the ink which comes out of the nozzle.
  • Piezoelectric Cartridge (Epson) - The cartridge contains piezoelectric crystal, which when current is applied changes shape and size forcing ink out from the nozzle.
  • Toner (Laser Jet Printer) - A drum contains powdered ink (toner), which is spreads on the paper using negative and positive charges and the heater sticks the ink on the paper.

Shrey

Have color laser jet 2605-error saying refresh supplies-what does this mean

Your printer "consumes":

1. paper
2. ink (either liquid-ink in an "ink-jet" printer, or dry toner-ink in a "laser" printer)

Refresh the supply of these "consumable" items.

It says used ink jet full. I don't know what that means. All of my color ink jets are full and I can't even make them come forward to check them but I'm sure they are full. What is the used ink jet.

Used ink jet is probably something like the 'waste toner' cartridge in laser printers. Look in the manual for a reservoir that has waste ink somewhere. Hopefully it'snot in the ink jet cartridge.

What year, make, model printer is this for further research?

C6380 - Ink System Failure 0xc19a0023 error message Just want to let everyone know i will never buy another hp printer again, i hve never had so much trouble with a printer, how can a printer only last 8...

as far as ink jets go i agree with you HP are pretty bad. However the HP color laser jets are second to none in my opinion. I work at a health care company and all we sell are HP laser jet printers. Sure the toner cost more money up front but page for page it's actually cheaper than having to buy all those ink jet refills. If you must have an ink jet printer I would try either a epson, cannon or lexmark. HERE is a good link to ink jet printer reviews

Need a new printer

I use the same printer kind of printer for my PC which is older than 8 years... I believe its ink jet... yeah since I have to buy a refill cartage ever who knows when. My printer is really old I would give its name, but I'm not near home to look at it. Either way I find the EPSON printers are good for older computers especially the older models.

Laser printers employ a xerographic printing process but differ from analog photocopiers in that the image is produced by the direct scanning of a laser beam across the printer's photo receptor.

Ink jet use ink to print images... obviously. No real in depth on it since its plain and simple.

Print paper

Not much,in most cases both can be switched, thermal is different, lasers use toner not ink, Premium inkjet paper has better ink asorbition properties with little spread, and paper designed for lasers can cope with the heat applied when it passes via the 180 deg fuser that melts the toner to it. Generally paper used in inkjets and laser is just standard 80gsm paper

Never use labels/transparentcy's designed for inkjets in laser machines they wont cope with the heat,
