Water stopped coming out of the dispenser and it no longer makes ice. I checked water supply to the unit and everything was good. I have replaced the water filter.

Hello friend, thank you for your post!

From the information you have provided there is no water coming out of the dispenser or ice of your Frigidaire refrigerator. I see you have changed the water filter and still have no water flow. This could mean there is a clog within your water line or your water valve may not be pushing water into your refrigerator. You may need to seek assistance from a technician. They would have the appropriate tools needed for proper testing and disassembly of your refrigerator. This will help prevent any personal injuries or improper part replacement on your refrigerator. -Matt

Car sputtered to a stop. Rpm ran down to zero and died.

Doubt it had anything to do with the oil change or belts replacement unless they were done wrong. e.g. improper oil or belt placement. Sputtering, as you stated usually comes from the fuel system. Check that.

We have a viking cook top and the vent goes up and down but the fan does not always turn on ? Can you help

Hi,
Some units have a dead man switch, which means that if the filters are not in place correctly the blowers will not operate. Its a safety thing to prevent little ones from dropping toys into a running blower. Double check the filters placement, if the filters are in the proper location than I would look at the power to the blower unit. The vent has two jobs, (1) to raise and lower, (2) to turn on the blower unit once in the full up position. If this is not the case, the upper switch in the vent system has failed. If you already confused, you will need to call a Viking expert to correct this problem. Its not difficult but can be time consuming.
I hope this helps
I have seen this problem twice and found the filters were the problem, rarely replace blower motors..

COULD AN OLD UNDER SINK WATER FILTER GIVE OFF A HORRIBLE SMELL?

Absolutely! This is a common problem when filters have not been changed at regular intervals, improper method of changing filters, contaminating the housings and filters introduces bacteria into the system and there is no better place for it to live and prosper. Any drinking water system needs regular sanitizing to prevent the buildup of bacteria. If the drain is not properly plumbed in with an air gap, cross contamination can occur from the the DWV line also.
This system is no longer safe to drink from. The good news is it can be sanitized and filters replaced to get you back in business. www.softenerparts.com sells a sanitizing solution for RO systems and the filters you need also.

I am looking for the water filter placement location for a GE profile refrigerator that is about 10 years old. Model # is TPX24BRBB, serial # DV271857. I'm not even sure there is a filter???????

That was strange, I first checked at GE and the model did not exist. I went to our vendor and they had the drawings. There is not a filter in your unit. I would suggest an inline water filter such as the one at the site below. Thanks for asking.

Slow water outlet on the door

You have two points where you can check the dispenser water. At the rear where the water supply comes in is the water inlet valve. If you disconnect the dispenser water line and then see if the water comes out when you try the dispenser. There is a screen filter in the line where the water supply connects to the water inlet valve which can get stopped up.
. If it's normal, disconnect it at the bottom of the freezer door and try again. If it's normal here it may be frozen in the door. If this is the case open the door till it thaws. A blanket over the opening will prevent thawing of all the food.

Cuisinart DCC2000-won't turn on

Hi wd,
My recent experience(s) is the clock/timer is malfunctioning and there's really nothing servicable, i.e.: nothing thet you can solve locally. If you're still within the Warranty period, your only recourse is to call the Cuisinart folks for a Return Authorization (RA) and have them ship you a new unit.

However not to be the bearer of doom, the Replacement Unit's Warranty will only cover the remainder of the Initial Unit. And the Replacement Unit may begin to show the same symptoms after 6 to 12 months.

Not to be misunderstood, As a "dyed-in-the-wool coffee person", I loved and depended on my DCC2000(s), both of them. My third replacement is a Bunn commercial unit (at about 3x the price, no bells, no whistles, no timers, etc.. that consistently delivers 10 cups in 3-4 minutes...

Water leaks around the bucket even the bucket is in place-bucket collects a little bit of water

It sounds like you need to check the drain under the cooling section. It can fill with dust, lint, cat hair, spiders, etc. and prevent water from draining into the bucket. First, unplug the unit. Don't do anything with AC power present. Then, remove the 2 screws under the front panel where the air filter slides up in and pull off the control panel. There are "snap" latches in the plastic near the top that can be (are) hard to undo, so be careful. You might want to have work gloves on because of sharp edges. Prying with a screw driver will cause permanent dents in the plastic. Also, there is a small, sleeved bunch of wires that goes up the left side to the operator buttons and display. Be careful not to damage it and the circuit board it goes to. Set the front panel aside, wire attached. There is no need to disassemble any of that. The drain is a small 3/8" hole in the black plastic floor of the cooling area at the front, right side. It seems to have a fitting for a hose that feeds through to the back of the unit. Clean any foreign material from it and everything else. Test it, with the bucket in place, by pouring some water in, if you want to. Then clean the dust off of everything so it looks new. Don't get the circuit board wet. Re-assemble, being careful with the front panel wire so it is not pinched and does not prevent easy removal/installation of the filter, and it should be OK.
