Where the @@@@@ is Cmos battery????????

if you will remove the battery it will restart your BIOS (the battery should be removed if you want to replace it),you do not need the code to bypass Windows if you did not forget it.

ya ....the only way to remove the bios password is to keep cmos battery out for 5 minutes.
try yourself or better will be to contact some tech. person.

if it is the system password then you can reset it by removing CMOS battery for 10 sec.


Remove CMOS battery then restart for 10 sec then again insert the battery and start system normally.

if its windows login password then while system ask you for password press ctrl-alt-del twice it will change the login window then type in user name Administrator and press enter....it will create a user account named administrator
now you can access your other account in control panel.......do reply back

Once system has booted check date and time settings in OS as well

If the laptop was legitamatly obtained then it is no problem. RIng up Dell and they will provide you with an unlock code for the BIOS./ Hope this helps

The cmos battery is on the motherboard and unless you are competent at disassembling laptops then I suggest you take it to a repair shop for battery replacement.

The cmos on the Pavilion is going to be in one of three places, and will be one of two styles of battery. The cmos style will be either a large watch type battery about the size of a nickle located in a slot on the mother board, or in a yellow or greenish pouch with two wires leading to a connector, located under a cover on the bottom of the machine, or under the keyboard.

loose the back of yr ibm if u cant find the cmos battery then u might need to disasemble the whole system carefully under the key board i think thats where th cmos battery will be.
Note removing cmos battery in some systems dont clear cmos password u have to do some additional work to remove yr password. for the battery prob try using a diff battery to be sure what ur prob is.

u wann remove it so u can get in uslay buy a speaker in ther relly small looking 2 wires to it not avg desktop style ok usesaly covered also and they are very hard to find orginal replacement battery ok thx nick
