My whirlpool range, model RF386PXGQ has had the display go blank. Everything works and if Itouch a button the display comes back on for a while. Can you help?

Maybe the ribbon cable from the keyboard to the board is not correctly connected or is rusted in one of its terminals, avoiding making contact only to those tracks that goes to the "Off" button. Removing it, checking and cleaning the contacts with rubbing alcohol in a cotton swab may help.

Hello Diana, Their are a few things that should be checked. I know its going to be tough to check on a built in double wall oven but one thing that needs to be checked is if their is 240 volts ac entering the oven(i know the breaker is ok) but the connection at the back of the oven can burn,then the proper voltage wont enter the oven. Another thing is a high limit thermostat thats inside of the control panel,need to checkif it has blown. Last thing i can think to check is if 120 volts is at the clock, if not 120vac that explains the blank display

The control (TIMER) has likely failed in this instance - BUT...
Sometimes when you disconnect power to a range and reconnect it the electronic range control gets confused. You should disconnect power again for 15 seconds and reconnect and see if that helps.
If it doesn't cure the E1- F5 error hold the bake button in until E0- F2 appears in the display. This is the error for a stuck button on the keypad and is the way to clear the memory of the electronic range control.
Sometimes these work, but if the control has failed it won't make any difference.
