Question about Indesit 18 in. D41 Slim-Line Free-standing Dishwasher

Open Question

What is causing first two lights on Indesit IDL 40 dishwasher to flash when I have cleaned and changed the drain pump already?

Hi - Dishwasher broke down while being used by someone else - so we don't know if they mistreated it. It wasn't that old first two lights flash and it doesn't drain. After checking many sites and the consensus being to clean the drain pump, I did this several times, (initially it seems to work but then it stops, presumably at the stage when it would normally drain). Then I bourght a new pump and had to fit the new style electrical connections and after all that it still stops part way with the two lights flashing! I would love some good advice. Thankyou.

Had a similar problem (flashing lights 1 and 2). Drained the machine by diconnecting the outlet hose and using a shallow bowl on the floor. Removed and cleaned filters. Forced clean water through by using a garden hose pipe(you can only do this one way, you cannot force water down the outlet pipe). Removed and cleaned the pump (you have to do this from under the machine but easy enough). Finally ensuring the waste trap under the sink was clear. Bingo!! No parts, no expensive engineer.

Ndesit IDL 535 DW, not cycling, water coming from under unt.

The washer is fitted with an anti flood device that detects water leaks and closes water inlet valve and puts washer in pump out mode. The anti flood device is a polystireen float with micro switch at the bottom floor of the washer. Dry the water and find the leak (pipe or pipe clamp) and this should then solve the error.

Dishwasher fault codes

the heating element is probably bad.
i have a idl 600 here in naples italy and it would fill up and go into alarm light 2 and 4 and pump out the water.
heating element cost 28 euro and i changed it out.
had to change the clamps as well.
if you ohm the element it should show about 100 ohms.
if it is open its bad.
the mother board does some checks and if anything fails it alarms out and drains the water after a few minuts

The problem is lack of water. Check that the water is turned on at the stop **** and make sure that the hose hasn't been traped if the dishwasher has been pulled out from it resess as happened to mine.
