Sounds like a bad connection on a ribbon cable or plug comming or going to the LCD display. This is something you should not try to fix as these circuits are very very fradgile and you can easily break or tear a ribbon cable . Call the manufacturer to get a tech to assit you. Good Luck

The set is under a year old and is under warranty. The LVDS cable inside these sets have a history of coming loose. The problem could be the panel. Either way, the set is the problem and needs to be looked at. This set is worked on in the home and does not need to be taken to a shop, so, you can still use it. Contact Samsung at: 1-800-SAMSUNG Hope this helps.

Unplug for 30 seconds from it's power source and then try it again. If that doesn't work, call Samsung for further troubleshooting and have your model number and serial number handy. Please be prepared to tell them how long the line is.

Hi, Depeending on the thickness of the lines matters. If the lines are Black and about 1-2 inches thick it may be a bad bottom buffer board or a bad panel (screen).
If the lines are thin 1/16 to 1/8 inch it is most likely a bad panel.
You can open up the set and depending on the model, see the thin board/boards running across the bottom with ribbon cables going to the panel. You may be able to attempt reseating the ribbon cables, but be careful as some retainer plugs break very easy.
If the lines are thick black and the reseating doesn't correct it you may be able to buy the coresponding buffer. Unfortunately some bottom buffers are actually part of the panel. If you are not comfortable taking it apart then call a professional but be aware labor charges start around $200 not counting parts, panels start at $600 up to over $1000
hope this helps
Thanks
Eric

My vizio Model SV470M will not turn on the power indicator light is not on either.

First, are you capable to open and repair this?
Being a power issue, we work "out to in". Plugged in wall and Power is not out in the neighborhood are too obvious to ask. Sooo... next .. Once back cover is off, look for and test the fuse on the PSU (power board), also look at this PSU board and see if any caps (capacitors) are bulged or popped. Both of these will kill a board, and usually caused by cheap caps or power surges from the power grid. You can replace the fuse easy enough, but you need good soldering skills to do the caps, and a supplier for the new caps. REPLACE ALL CAPS, not just the obvious bad ones. Otherwise, replace the whole board. Since you mentioned a "No Power" issue, this should fix it. Transformers are not too easy to test, (trans may be "browned" IE: burnt) and chips.. forget it, for both, replace the board. Hope this helps

Vizio SV470M Issue Sound No Picture

Do you have backlight? If you do, you have a bad main logic board. Very common with vizio and are hard to find. They are usually out of stock everywhere.

Our three year ol Samsung TV has dark horizontal lines across the top of bottom of the screen. It is getting worse

Welcome to fixYa!

When you see lines like these across your LCD, it indicates a problem with your monitor's electrolytic capacitors.A faulty filter capacitor in the power supply board (SMPS board) can cause horizontal lines across your monitor screen.Horizontal screen lines are one of the most visible problems I see in LCD monitors & TV's that are 3-7 years old. It can happen as much from heat, humidity & less-than-ideal operating conditions, as it can from fluctuating current supply or manufacturing defects.

The way to repair horizontal screen lines is by removing the capacitors from the printed circuit board (PCB) and testing them with a LCR meter.

If it shows zero, there's your confirmation that the specific capacitor needs to be replaced.

now if you can replace them your welcome but i wont suggest that , cause you may break it more....!

any ways do comment if it helped you in any manner!
