Question about Samson C01U Consumer Microphone
Hi, Samson C01u disconnects automatically after some time and i have to re-plug it in the usb port to restart it. I am using windows 7 home edition and my speakers are attached via an audio interface.

Control Panel > Sound Audio Device > go to Voice Tab > check your drop down list for Voice Recording and make sure you put on Samson C01U then test your hardware and see you get any pick up. I had to research on what to do.
Now my problem is why the mic is only picking up on the left side of the ear instead of the right. =/

SOURCE: C01u PROBLEM PLS HELP ?!
That's the way it's supposed to work. It's a mono microphone, so there's only one signal to record.
Set up your recording software so that it only records the Left channel. It describes how to do this on the Samson FAQ page and in the Owner's Manual:
"In your digital audio workstation (DAW), create a mono audio track, and set it to the Left channel of the C01U (the Right channel should be ignored). Arm the track for recording, and adjust the input gain by using the software control in your computer's operating system"
Don't try to alter the pan so both sides are the same; that will just screw up the levels and noise.

Welcome to the world of STUDIO microphones. Super quality BUT you must have a studio to use them. You can't have any local speaker playing into them. You often use headphones lest your monitor speakers will feedback. At the high frequency capability of these mics, you can fry your amps with oscillations above what you can hear!

SOURCE: hi i have a problem
Some users have reported problems with this microphone not working properly with Windows Vista operating system but it is fine with XP and Windows 7. Some MAC & Linux users have also encountered installation problems.
All condenser microphones require a power source to make them work. In the case of USB mics they take their operating power from the computers USB port. If you have a lot of other USB devices connected then there may not be enough power available to run them all at the same time. Disconnect any devices that you do not need.
First step would be to make sure that you connect to a main USB port (not a separate hub). If you are using a desktop or tower computer use the USB ports on the rear of the computer, which are mounted directly on the motherboard. Front panel USB ports are normally on a hub and may therefore prove unreliable with some devices..
Next try to diagnose the problem by process of systematic elimination
