Last night I spilled some juice on the keyboard of my computer. I cleaned it up and my husband opened it and let it dry. It never worked right after that. The computer and the screen were no where near it. I managed to shut the computer down, and the screen seemed fine. Next morning the computer came on, with no fan, and the monitor screen was black. We had an old computer so we tried it on the monitor and it still was black. Also we replaced the keyboard with a new one, still no screen from either computers. The monitor is an old one the sits way up on top and away from the keyboard, so I know no juice got near it. Why would the fan stop working and the screen remain black, and what can I do if anything to fix

I have the same model after youlet it sit for a long enough period to cool down it will come back on and work normal, it is a cooling problem called gateway and they confirmed this theproblem I ran in to was what fan this computer has 3. temp fix I used was to remove the tower cover to allow better air flow try this till you can figure out what fan is messing up

I agree, if you did a combo of keystrokes (re: cntrl+F5 for monitor) thats only a shortcut keystroke and should be able to do and undo all changes in "control panel">"display">"settings">advanced

Your RAM should be Loose, Have a check on it. Remove it and fix it again.

For reasons yet to be determined, your computer is not talking to your monitor.
This could be the monitor cable came loose from the tower (this is our favorite, because it is such an easy repair), or something on the motherboard (that is, anything) that is not functioning and preventing your computer from starting.
Unplug the connecting cable, and plug it back in again, making sure that it is seated properly.
Do you hear any sounds besides the fans? You should be able to hear the faint clicking of a hard drive starting up also. If you hear this, the problem is not in the computer, but in the communication to the monitor.
Good luck

You should try booting into safe mode. Press the F8 key before the windows logo and choose safe mode without network support. If windows loads run a checkdisk by right clicking on the c drive, left click on properties and then select the tools tab. From there you can run a disk test to check for errors. If you get that far then reboot and see if it starts normally. If not try F8 again and try selecting restore the last known working condition. This will restore your settings from the last time it worked. If you can’t get to the F8 screen get back with me and I will try a few more drastic solutions. Good Luck
Hello, doing a "last known good
configuration" Works most of the time. Here is how to do it:
1. Make sure your computer is powered down.
2. Turn your computer on and immediately
start pressing F8 on your keyboard repeatedly until you see a black screen with white writing that gives you a list of boot
options.
3. Use the down arrow on your keyboard to
select the Last Known Good Configuration (Advanced) option.
4. Press Enter on your keyboard
and cross your fingers.
Good Luck!
