This a common exception that was happening with blackberry curves. Here is what you do. Take the battery out. Next you take out the memory card. Next you plug your phone into the desktop. You will need to do a reset on your phone. Once you reset the phone. Stick the memory card and thee battery back into the phone. The blackberry desk top will reset your phone.Make sure you sync your phone numbers and contacts. After the reset your phone will resync your information. Be careful if during the sync and reset that the phone does not shut off

Uncaught exception DSSMA: invalid state (5):2

You first need to attempt a hard reset. Simply put, pull the battery while the phone is on,wait 30 seconds, then replace it and turn it on. If that doesn't work, make sure you have the latest version of Blackberry Desktop Manager downloaded to your computer, back up your phone using backup/restore, the delete all data and applications the do a restore using your previous back up. For full instructions go to www.blackberry.com/support and search KB10859.

Sounds like a mess :)

At that point I would have to say re-install the firmware.

Seems like you somehow got a type of virus on your phone that has destroyed some critical files.

If i can find the German link to the American firmware again, I'll post it so at least it's like a firmware upgrade which would overwrite the core files. it also adds video capture which isn't the best quality, but it is nice.

I don't think there's a good enough virus software out there yet for the BB, but if you have one on your PC you might want to try hooking it to the USB and running a virus scan on the phone through Windows.
