Good day Betty
After you click on "Messages" to the top left below your name and it carries you to the messages section, with a listing of all those you have sent messages to. In the center at the top you should see the word "Actions" to the right of "New Messages", click on that and a window will pop down and you will see the "Delete Messages" and "Delete Conversation" options.

Delete chats

To delete a message:

Click Messages on the left side of your homepage.
Open the conversation you want to delete a message from.
From the Actions menu, select Delete Messages...
Use the checkboxes to select the messages you want to delete.
Click Delete.

I have had a conversation with a friend private mess not on Facebook is there a way I can recover them if so please tell me thanks

Pls delete my face book messages now

When you open a facebook message (chat) you will see a small image that looks like a cog. Click this and you will see 'Delete Conversation' and 'Delete Messages' - click one of those and either the conversation or messages will be deleted.

I need all my personal messages deleted from facebook

YOu cannot delete facebook messages. You can only archive them. If you go to "see all messages" you will land on the page where all your messages are. There you will see an "x" on the right side of the messages. Click on them.

How do you delete facebook messages? My facebook has 300 comments.

Log in to the Facebook website (see the "Resources" section) with your registered email address and password.

2.
Select "Inbox" from the navigation menu. Email messages received from Facebook messaging system load on the screen.

3.
Press the "Sent" link. All messages you've sent via Facebook's email system are listed.

4.
Select the messages you'd like to delete by clicking on the "X" next to each message. To select multiple messages, click on the box next to each sent message you wish to delete. To select all sent messages, press the "All" button. To deselect all messages, click the "None" button.

5.
Click on the "Delete" button from the menu bar.

Facebook retrieval of a message

There is a way of recovering deleted facebook messages.
In order to recover a facebook conversation:
You must receive email notifications from facebook, telling you when someone sent you a message. Ex. Paul Wilson sent you a message on facebook
Click on that link.. If you have already deleted the notification, go to your deleted messages inbox (hotmail)..
(It's impossible to completely remove something from a computer!)
At the bottom of the message, you will see a link, click on the link that says :
To reply to this message, follow the link below :
ex. http://www.facebook.com/inbox.php?lh=0e5633de8d92e7fab7145ffc710260dc&
then click on : SHOW DELETED THREAD.
Done!
