The copies are lighter on one end.

The copies seem to fade evenly from one end to the other. I put in a new drum but it still has the problem.

Fading copies

Hi

If you have stock toner for very long time, I suggest you just shake it well to distribute evenly the toner powder.

If this solution doesn't help, roller drum inside the copier that might worn out and needs replacement.

I hope it helps you.

Hello! I have a canon ImageRunner 200L. The

most likely needs a drum unit

you can try cleaning the charge roller with water. try not to touch the drum, best to remove the drum from the unit first

I have a Lanier 7313 Copier which doesn't copy properly. Even with a new ink cartridge, the copies come out faded. Any ideas on what I can do?

This machine goes through developer pretty quickly. Sounds to me like it needs new developer and possibly a drum (and drum blade).

Copier makes faded copies, even though it has toner

the heater unit is the problem.
yo can get a repair kit by search on the Internet or go to Toshiba web site.
the repair kit come with instruction, if you can handle the mechanic part of things. then you are all set.

Xerox 416P faded copies

Remove the glass and thoroughly clean the lamp, mirrors and lens. Also the glass on both sides. If that does not work, remove the toner and drum, look inside the machine for a small opening about 8 inches long and a quarter inch wide. That is the laser window. It may also need cleaned. It is possible the laser needs to be removed and cleaned.
I am not sure, can you print reports on the p model? If so make a printed page and tell me if they look fine.
What you have to remember on a digital copier is when the optics get dirty , the image gets lighter.

The Ai3010 - fading image at 200,000 copies = needs a new Optical Drum + Cleaning Blade + Main Charger Wire + Developer + Transfer Assembly.

Faded print on left hand side of paper

This type of printing defect is normally caused by 1 of a few problems - the easier one first:

1. Toner cartridges sometimes do not have the toner evenly distributed - close the toner cartridge and inspect the hopper right below it for even distribution of toner.

The harder ones:

2. This type of defect can also be caused by dirty charging section - for the drum to pick up the toner it must be charged electrically prior to exposure - if the charge grid is not clean then it will not give the drum an even charge - not sure were this is in this printer yet - looks like it comes as part of the drum kit so this should not be causing this issue.

3. The last and most difficult to check is paper alignment with the drum - is the paper contacting the drum evenly - look for possible problems in the paper path with the drum unit removed - look for something uneven around the area were the paper contacts the drum

Color/picture prints are lighter than usual

This could be caused by a worn OPC drum, Transfer belt or poor high voltage output.

I would suggest the drum first.
