Refridgerator door stayed open for awhile now alarm light flashes and interior light does not go on

I have a Maytag MFW2055YEB refrigerator with french door top fridge and bottom drawer freezer, the control panel says that the doors aren't closed and so it won't dispense water! The doors close fine and the switches on the doors appear to be OK, they are definitely engaged correctly by the doors! I can't feel any air coming out or see any gaps that would be causing this! I've tried unplugging it and leaving it unplugged for over an hour but it displays the same error as soon as it is plugged back in!
