Constant cleaning problem

My Cannon i560 is cleaning way too often. It cleans for about 40-50 seconds befor it prints and again after each print. Should i just leave it turned off or is there a better solution? I haven't used it that much in the couple of years I've had it but it didn't have this problem befor.

My i560 Canon printer prints all colors but not the black ink

after a month of not using the printer, most probably the print head is clogged.. try using the printer utility to clean the print head.. it's under the printer properties.. normally that should resolve the print missing issue...unless your print head is really clogged up...
some would suggest to partial soak the print head onto warm water..but it doesn't work everytime..

Printer, Canon i560, has not been used for ages.

first of all it require servicing like cleaning of steel rod inside in the printer on which print heads move ,that you can do with lubricant oil and second thing you need to change the cartridges because they may be already dry because you not used for very long time. In short if you can do this entire thing well otherwise I advised you to show it service center.

Check to make sure you're not adjusting it to fit the page. This can shrink the entire doc..
Look in the print dialog window when you select print from the file menu.
There should be options to select or deselect before clicking to print.

Let me know if you solve this one...

It's mean "Print head not installed/Defective print head".First open cover and remove the ink cartridges. Then open holder and remove the print head.Clean the contacts on printer and print head using piece of cotton and some alcohol. Then put back all again. If the problem persist you need to replace the print head. It's part number now is QY6-0064, because the old QY6-0042 is discontinued.

I have a Cannon i560 and I am getting 5 blinking yellow light the green and then it repeats. All indications is that I need a new print head. I want to be sure this is it before buying the print head.

5 blinking yellow or 7 blinking yellow in canon printers means you need to replace the ink cartridge or head with a new one. If you want to be sure, then take the print head and see if there is any burned area or damaged near the head and sometimes it is very small like a needle puncture. if there is, you need to buy a new one. if not, try to clean the head with 96% alcohol, let them dry before you try to put it back.
