they get very warm. iff you are running the cooler all the time and newer turn it off you will cause the power adapter fail.the cooler is not an appliance that is designed for constant service. your refrigerator that is plugged in and running.
PROPER method is to disconnect the power cord of the AC adapter, from power; THEN unplug the AC adapter from the laptop.
Same thing in reverse to plug the AC adapter back in. AC adapter is plugged into laptop, THEN AC adapter is plugged into power.
Unplugging the AC adapter from the laptop, while being plugged into power; can cause a Voltage Spike.
You may get away with it for years, and several laptops; and have no problems.
However it only takes ONCE, to fry out the SMD fuses, Multi-Layer Ceramic Capacitors, and Power MOSFET's, on the laptop motherboard's DC to DC circuit.
Jus sayin'.
Moving on........
AC adapter removed, remove the Battery. Press the Power On button in, and hold in for a count of 10 seconds. Let go. Do this procedure 2 more times.
(Draining residual power)
Reinstall the Battery. Attach the AC adapter, plug AC adapter into power. Let the Battery charge 24 hours. Then turn the laptop on, and tell me what happened.
The hayni made in china internal power supply has faulty transformers on it that fail within anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. Solution. Remove the back panel, take out the internal power supply and replace it with another compatible AC 120v to 12v DC 5amp power supply. Often laptop power adapters will work. I used this one: 60w-12v-5A-AC-DC-Power-Adapter from the website mini-box and it only cost 15 dollars. The peltier pad draws upwards of 5amps, but the rest of the system is super lower power. Now my wine cooler is more energy efficient and and will run for at least 5-10 years. This power supply replacement takes about 20 minutes. You need: philips screw driver, wire cutter and stripper, two 16 guage wire nuts. That's it.
You do not want to convert anything to a 220 v connection !!!! Your RV is 12 volt DC and 120 volt AC. Use a 30amp female to 15 amp male adapter to plug in to regular household receptacle on generator. Available at hardware store and RV stores.
The lack of DC output COULD possibly prevent the stopping. There are likely fuse(s) between the low voltage winding and a rectifier to generate the DC. SOMETIMES these are even inside the generator cover.
Either Have A Failing AC Adapter, Or A Failing DC Jack
you can test the AC Adapter using a multimeter (available at any home improvement center for $6)..
The DC Jack Would Need To Physically Be Checked To See If It's Faulty... which would intail removal of all parts down to the motherboard and visually inspect the DC Jack (the port where the Charger Cord Plugs into)
Remove The Battery... Plug AC Adapter Into Laptop.. Attempt To Power On....
