I have lot of cable modem. After a rainy season all of my modems shows message of cable unplugged when conect to the pc i replaced Lan cards of pc but still then i facing problem and also modems Activity led also not blinking how we can solve this problem.
Since it only happens when it rains, it sounds like you may have damaged cable between the modem and the drop. You will need to physically inspect whatever cables you have access to, and you may need to call a field tech out to repair the damaged cable.

The difference between a Lsn Card and a modem are
this - A Lan card is a card that you slide into the side of a laptop
and it can allow you the ability to get onto a network wirelessly. A Lan
card for a PC allows a Lan connection by way of a CAT 5 cable that will
allow you to get onto the internet or if a crossover cable is attached
to your pc to another you are directly connected to the network. A
modem is a piece of hardware that is installed into a slot in the PC
that will allow you the ability to get onto the internet by attaching a
phone line to it through the RJ 11 jack (which it comes with 2 rj11
jacks on it).
Possible reason why your getting this message are the following.
1. defective ethernet cable
2. defective lan port on the modem.
I would advice you to do the following
1. Try another working cable
2. If your modem has multiple lan ports ( modem/router)
you can plug it on the other LAN ports and see if it will lid up
3.If you have a spare computer to try on the modem , please do so, so you can further isolate the problem . If its a modem port problem or your computer itself
If your modem/router has a USB connectivity, you can connect it via USB. Else you will have to buy an Ethernet PCI Card, which wont cost you much.
I hope this solves your problem. Good Luck !

Hi, Go to Control Panel -> Network connections make sure the Local Area connection is enable. if this working fine then replace you LAN card. LAN card is connected to the PCI slot of the motherboard. And install drivers for your LAN card. Thank you
what you should have purchased was a modem/router and not a seperate router to connect to your modem, but the modem should connect to the cable/adsl port (wan) using the initial RJ45 lan cable, and then a lan cable from one of the 4 ports on the rear to each pc.
assuming you using ethernet to connect the pc to the modem:
how about checking your ethernetLAN card on the pc if it's integrated with the motherboard you can enable it from the bios settings if it's an expansion card it sounds like you need the most up to date driver which can be downloaded from the card manufacturer's website if you have access to internet on another pc.
assuming your pc is connected to the modem via usb:
reinstall the driver for the modem .
another thing you can do is buy a usb to ethernet adapter which are available for under $5 on the market one end connects to the usb port on your pc and the other end is ethernet
and this should work .
