Since it only happens when it rains, it sounds like you may have damaged cable between the modem and the drop. You will need to physically inspect whatever cables you have access to, and you may need to call a field tech out to repair the damaged cable.

Magicjack problems

Hi Frederick,

If you hear error 1 while trying to place a call with your magicJack, it means that you are not connected to the Internet.
To resolve this, make sure that one end of the ethernet cable is plugged into your modem/router/switch and the other end into your magicJack.
You also need to make sure that your modem/router/switch is powered on and that the port you have connected the magicJack to is functioning correctly.
Step 1. if your magic jack plus is plugged directly into computer then be sure to unplug it restart computer then plug the device back in.
Step 2 only if you have it connected to a router and modem first unplug the modem then unplug your router ... leave both unplugged for about 15 seconds then plug in the modem and wait for all the lights to come on then plug in the modem, a lot of times this can solve conectivity issues......

Hope this helps,
Thanks,
Gary

Open the Network Icon in the Tray Notification Area, do you see your wireless? Will it connect if you use a Ethernet cable? Post results

There is no internet connection to the laptop. The arris modem gives internet acess to the PC computer, though. The manual for the Airlink 101 router says to connect the router and MODEM to each other by a...

What you're missing is that ALL the PCs will be connecting THROUGH the router to the Modem. Unplug the PC network Cable from the modem, then plug a network cable from the router's INTERNET port into the modem (where you removed the PC's network cable). Now, plug the PC's network cable into one of the ports on the router (usually 4 or more, marked 1,2,3,4. Think of a Router as a "splitter". It connects to the Modem, then several devices connect to the Router, some of them by wire and some by Wi-Fi. So your desktop PC is connected by wire to the router and your laptop PC is probably connected by Wi-Fi (wire is an option, as well). The Router sorts out all those signals and communicates with the Modem. Sound reasonable?

I have a new belkin n150 when i conect to the modem, there is a amber flash light for the modem on the router, when i conect the computer directly i have conection, i have folowed all the instructions but...

This indicates that router can't detect cable modem or this is unresponsive, probably your modem is logically tied with your PC (MAC address associated), that's why when you connect them directly work fine, if this is the case, you'll have to clone the MAC address of your PC into your router, this should be at Setup Menu, Manage MAC addresses option.

2004 Emachine- when desktop comes up on lower right there's a flashing icon when clicked on says "Network Connections", Local Area Connection, Network Cable Unplugged, Intel{R} PRO/100 VE...

If the local area connection icon specifies as network cable unplugged, then the computer has not sensed the connection between the computer to the cable modem / DSL modem, please reseat the cable behind the cable / dsl modem to the computer. If the icon still shows unplugged, then change the network cable between the two.

If the issue still persists, please revert with more details lik the kind of internet connection used and the reason for reinstalling.

Problem connecting external verizon modem to computer- error msg 'network cable unplugged'

Possible reason why your getting this message are the following.

1. defective ethernet cable
2. defective lan port on the modem.

I would advice you to do the following
1. Try another working cable
2. If your modem has multiple lan ports ( modem/router)
you can plug it on the other LAN ports and see if it will lid up
3.If you have a spare computer to try on the modem , please do so, so you can further isolate the problem . If its a modem port problem or your computer itself

Cheers.

I could not install the router to my pc plz help me , i m helpless

You did not mention which router you have, but the following instructions work for all routers.

Router setup
You have to plug in a network cable from the WAN/Internet port of the router to the cable modem. Then you have to conect a network cable from any port of the router to the computer.
Then:
Shutdown your PC. Unplug the power from the router and the cable modem.
Wait 30 sec. then plug in the power to the cable modem, wait 30 sec. then plug the power to the router. Wait till you have "Internet" light then restart your PC. The PC should pick up an IP address and you should be able to get on-line. This is if you have a cable service provider. If you have DSL, the router needs to be configured with PPOe.

If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

Network adapter is working but still not getting good connection

Make sure the light on your cable modem that represents your connection to the computer (it might be marked LAN, Ethernet, or PC) is lit up and isn't flashing. The light will tell you if your network card is properly connected to the cable modem.

If the light isn't on, make sure you've connected the wire to the right port on the cable modem, and try restarting the cable modem by unplugging it, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.

If it still doesn't work after that, contact your Internet provider. Their technical support department can help you get it set up.
