I no longer provide support for any scanners. As a Police Dispatcher I was working when two police officers were ambushed and killed because a person listening to a scanner told the suspects the police were coming. They should be outlawed.
put your scanner in manual mode.and then go to program mode and program your frequencies into your scanner.try that and see if that works.....if not it could be a problem in your Radio....
The 370 is a straightforward scanner and fairly simple to set up, and you should be able to program it yourself with no problems.
Your first step is to make a list of the frequencies that you want to program. Your scanner has the capacity to hold up to 300 frequencies, so you should probably write out a list or type it up in your computer. There's an area in the scanner operating manual for listing your frequencies, but it doesn't have space for you to list the users. You can find a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area by visiting:
www.RadioReference.com
Once you have your list, 1. Power the scanner ON. 2. Press the E/PGM key to enter the programming mode. 3. If the displayed channel is not the one you want to program, enter the desired channel number and then press HOLD. 4. Enter the desired frequency - including the decimal point. 5. Press E/PGM to enter your data into the scanner's memory. 6. To program the next channel, press the UP or DOWN arrow key, and then start again with step 4 above. 7. To exit the programming mode, press the HOLD and SCAN keys.
The scanner operating manual contains more detailed programming instructions, along with information on how to use features like SEARCH, Weather Alerts, and Band Search. If you don't already have a copy of the manual, you can download and print it here:

If you run into any problems while programming, just let us know.
I couldn't locate a manual for this one, but here's some programming guidance from Uniden:
Here are basic instructions for programming nearly all of the older scanners that Uniden produced.
When the scanner is turned on press the MANUAL key, then press the
channel number that you want to program first, then the MANUAL key
again. This will stop the scanner from scanning and hold it on the
channel that you want to program. Then you enter the frequency (be sure to use the decimal point
in the right area when entering in the frequency) and then press the E
or ENTER button to save the frequency on the channel. You are now
finished programming the channel. To advance to the next channel simply
press the MANUAL key and enter your next frequency the same way that
you entered it on the previous channel (as described at the beginning
of this paragraph).
Programming the 248 is fairly simple once you know the steps. - Turn the scanner ON - Press the MANUAL key to stop scanning - Enter the channel number that you wish to program (01, 02, etc.) - Press MANUAL - Enter your frequency, including the decimal point (e.g. 156.055) - Press E to confirm - Press MANUAL to advance to the next channel

For a comprehensive database of active frequencies in your area, viksit:
Your scanner covers conventional frequencies as well as a variety of trunking systems. Programming steps can be detailed, and they vary according to the system being worked, so it's not practical to attempt a full programming tutorial in this short response. Your best bet is to review the operating manual for the scanner, and then follow the steps for the system(s) that you want to program. If you run into a specific problem, let us know and we'll do our best to work through it with you.
There isn't a universal guide for programming but if you take it to a local Radio Shack, they can give you all the frequencies of your local emergency radios. They can also show you how to program, store and prioritize your scanner.
If you don't have on already, you need a copy of your local Police fire Med Scanner frequenicies, after the intruction manual has step by step directions for programming those codes in. If you don't have the manual, go to www.radioshack.com and type 20-527 into the search bar. towards the bottom of the screen it should have a link for the owners manual. ALternatley click the porduct support tab.
